We just finished a road trip through eight states in the southeast US including the Great Smoky Mountains, and this one quick stop off the Natchez Trace Parkway took me by surprise and was maybe the most beautiful place we came across the entire time. There's a nice boardwalk that let's you walk right through the middle of the swamp and bask in its glory. There's also a quick 20 minute trail that will take you around a lot of the swamp. The trail was a bit overwhelmed by plant growth so if you don't want to get caught up in those plants you can stick to the boardwalk. As a bonus we saw an alligator swimming through the water. Read moreThe Cypress swamp is a rest area on the Natchez Trace Parkway. It has water looks like a few feet deep and a lot of trees growing out of it. Of course in a swamp there are lots of bugs around. It's a nice rest area to pull out. Easy to see from the main road. This won't would be compatible to other ones. Read more15Dec2023 Cypress Swamp The swamp with lots of Tupelo and Cypress Trees. Swamp with eerie and ghostly silence. Somewhere that Gator is there feeling. But you don’t get to see any. Beautiful Swamp Nature Trail. 20 minutes you need to take a walk, but you can take more time to watch and experience, but in reality you run through it to complete the trail in 15 minutes.
