Beware! Although its free to get in you have to be formally invited by a resident and they add your name to list that is carefully checked at the gate. If not on the list, you cannot get in to see or use lake. Its gated and secured. Wish I had known this before driving 48 min to go enjoy family time. I’m a new resident of Temecula and thought it would be fun to take family to enjoy some fun time at the lake during the Lanor day holiday. But since we did not have invitation we were forced to turn around. Very disappointed. They should charge a small fee for Local residents and maybe even help reduce HOA fees for the tenants at Canyon Lake....
