Calavera Park — Attraction in Carlsbad

Carlsbad pulling through with yet another great park! This is a nice community park already and you can expect even more improvements coming this Fall! My son really enjoyed the bike bouncer. He kept making motorcycle noises as he played on it 😆 We would love to come here again!

Great park. However, a couple minuses- the play area itself is a bit small and there is not a lot of shade to be found on the park. Either by trees or fixtures. The benches are covered with an awning, but the play area and fields surrounding aren't well shaded and it can be a lot, on a hot day. Also the park often gets crowded and busy at unpredictable times throughout the day. A part from this it is a nice work with basketball courts. Two large fields. One with a baseball diamond. It's a very well maintained park, with a community center, a gym and large parking lot. There are tennis and basketball courts, baseball field and picknic tables which can be reserved. They are very popular for any kinds of celebrations. In the summer, there are free rock or jazz concerts on Fridays. Great neighborhood park!
