Very disappointed. Was there a few years ago and it was wonderful, but took 4 friends this weekend and we got there we were told that a company had purchased all 14 rides for Saturday December 16! Tried to see if there were any cancellations that we could fill since we were only there for the day, having driven from El Paso and the people there were extremely rude and told us there was nothing they could do and should have checked the website which indicated they were booked. We looked up the website while there and nothing was said about it being booked. Tried to show the staff and they refused to look at it. They pretty much threw us out of the office. Will definitely NEVER go back and make sure we tell our friends who were waiting on us to see how our experience was. BTW, the staff never even said they were sorry and the place was deserted. Last time we were there it was alive and Christmas music was playing; this time it was a total disappointment. Had to pay close to $200 for a hotel just to have to come back the next day since there isn't much else to do there. I had built this trip up for my friends who were needless to say very disappointed and angry. Don't waste your...
Read moreWe bought tickets online two weeks before we planned to go to Christmas on the Pecos. The website was extrenely user friendly.
When we went to Carlsbad the day of our boat trip, Google maps took us right to where we needed to go. We went to the ticket office and spoke with a very friendly customer service person who quickly gave us our boarding passes.
We were early so we walked around for a bit. When it was time to line up, I saw workers putting life jackets on younger children. It was a relief to see that. There was a short easy walk to the boat. The boat was open aired with quite a bit of seating. My husband and I were able to sit together in the front row. The captain came forward to introduce himself. He was funny.
The boat had Christmas music playing softly in the background as it went up the Pecos slowly so we could enjoy all the brilliant and beautiful light displays. Because the boat was open aired, it was very cold. Wear layers of clothing and bring a blanket, hat and gloves. We really enjoyed ourselves. Afterwards, we went to the snack shack and got two hot chocolates, delicious. We will...
Read moreHave been wanting to do this for years. Was a very nice cruise around the Pecos River, the Christmas lights and decorations were Great. We had called in the afternoon was told best to purchase tickets online before hand. We purchased tickets, wrote down number and screen shot receipt and verification number. We went and ate before the cruise. Put the address in the navigation, took us to the Chamber of Commerce in town, no one there, no one to answer the phone. Drove in circles, trying to figure out where to go. Remembered the lady told us was behind The Bureau of Land Management put that address in, by the grace of God found the Sign for Christmas on the Pecos, was still confusing as to where to go. Figured it out parked then was difficult to find ticket office in the back.. The Cruise and BEAUTIFUL LIGHTS made it all worth it. After we got back to the motel saw my email that had all the...
