I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience this past weekend for our daughter’s destination wedding at Carnation Farms. The personal service and attention to detail of One Boss Hospitality, which coordinated planning and organization of the event, was amazing. From a year ago, when we first toured the grounds with Nelliena, the CEO and head planner of One Boss Hospitality, to the final check-out day, we felt like we were the only clients Nelliena and her team had on their schedule.
We rented the entire facility for three days. The first day included the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, which was held in the dining room, Farm View, the perfect size for about 30 people. We used their on-site caterer, Wandering Table, which provided a delicious dinner with fresh farm-to-table ingredients. The food, service, and venue were all outstanding.
On the second day, guests arrived at 11:00 for an afternoon and evening of camp-like games and activities. The check-in process was seamless. Guests were pre-assigned to rooms, which we had done using the Aisle Planner software provided by One Boss Hospitality. The grounds and facilities were amazing. Most of the guests stayed in the two main lodges that faced the large field, while others stayed in the smaller Grey Gables lodge that had its own kitchen and banquet table, and the family stayed in Director’s House further down the hill. Throughout the weekend, we heard enumerable unsolicited comments from our guests about the wonderful grounds, the comfortable lodging and the welcoming and accommodating staff.
The wedding on the third day was perfect. The guests who stayed on-site the previous night ventured down for lunch at the Carnation Farm Stand, a road-side general store that serves food that is grown on the working farm. The Farm Stand also delivered lunch for the bridal party. Nelliena had a detailed timeline for the day, all vendors knew when to arrive and where to go, and guests were warmly welcomed and directed to the appropriate place.
I cannot end this review without giving a special shout-out to Nelliena and her team for their warmth, professionalism, and caring. Nelliena’s main goal is to help your vision become a reality, and that is exactly what occurred. She will do all she can to accommodate every wish, giving guidance and suggestions as needed, but she allows you to make your own decisions. We didn’t need to hire a wedding planner because we had Nelliena helping us and keeping us organized. We met once a month via Zoom, and then as the event drew closer, we met once every two weeks, and then finally once a week. In addition to these meetings, she also gave us her cell phone number so that we could call or text questions. Nelliena was also a great problem solver. When we ran out of breakfast food for the final day, she called the Carnation Café and asked them to make us breakfast sandwiches to go. They were delicious and exactly what guests wanted as they headed out to the airport or their drive home.
In addition to Nelliena, who is the head planner in charge of people and events, Devan is the person overseeing the vendors, and Amberle oversees the facilities. Even though they had different roles, all three helped in any way they could. For example, Devan and Amberle checked people in, Devan assembled the wedding arch and draped the cloth over it, and Amberle helped serve at the rehearsal dinner and set out breakfast. All three worked together as a team, even taking turns sleeping on-site so that there was always someone to monitor events and help where needed. Devan also joined our zoom meetings as the event got closer, and when we delivered alcohol and other supplies on Tuesday before the event, the team along with the bartender helped us unload our supplies.
I would unconditionally recommend Carnation Farms and One Boss Hospitality for your personal or corporate event. They are all seasoned professionals who will work with you to create a truly personalized and...
Read moreI understand you can't predict the weather in June. The forecast was over 80, but the venue did nothing for guests sitting baking in the hot sun. The venues should have had cold water bottles available as guests were being seated. For the amount (I can imagine)the family spent, there should have been preventative plans from the venue...sails, pop-ups, etc... to slightly protect guests from hot sun... anything can be decorated in a day or so with little effort. The barn inside was considerably hot, too. The wedding party asked to open roll up windows for air flow, nothing was done for over 90 minutes until one bridesmaids got on a chair to open, then the venue finally reacted, and 2 hours later the venue brought out box fans - really why wait so long?!? People were sweating in formal/semi-formal attire. Additionally, the appetizers were put outside of the barn to sit in the hot sun??? The venue was beautiful. However, they could have made many choices to make it amazing....
Read moreCarnation Farms in Carnation, Washington, is a stunning wedding venue that combines rustic charm with modern elegance. As a wedding photographer, there were so many beautiful backdrops to choose from, from the open fields, to the fall foliage, and even mountain views on a clear day. The historic barn is both grand and inviting, providing a perfect space for dancing and lively receptions. Before my clients wedding day the staff here allowed me to scout the property to plan for the couples photos and I am so glad they did! We found the perfect spot for sunset photos, with trees lining the roadway as the golden hour glow lit up the trees golden foliage. This wedding was in the fall, but during the summer more of the garden is in bloom and there are so many gorgeous greenery backdrops throughout the property. Capturing love stories here is an...
