Awesome hidden gem of Briar Chapel.
What an awesome way to visit the night line with kids and folks of all ages. This park is atop a hill in one of the neighborhoods. There isn’t a parking lot like at the other parks. People have parked closer to the wood line at the bottom. The sidewalk will reach close to the top sections where there are viewing scopes for the celestial heavens. Larger brass markers point the general direction for constellations during certain times of the year.
One drawback is the NC weather. Our humidity runs high in this area, but on a dry clear night the light pollution is fair allowing one to see the common start, planets, and your favorite constellations.
