This is just a stop by the side of the road where you can get a close look at the lava fields and how the vegetation has been able to grow within them. There are no trails, but you could walk on your own, although very carefully, not only because of rattlesnakes, but also because the terrain is really rough. You could end up either with a twisted ankle or destroyed shoes (you have been warned 🙂). There are trails nearby that are a better option. PLEASE don't litter, it's just not a nice view that garbage that people leave behind...

This is actually a pretty interesting spot. There is a turn off where you can park and explore a little. Be careful there are lots of cacti and other prickly plants. We enjoyed looking at the lava flows. I do wish there wasn't as much trash around, but a lot of people are inconsiderate of others. Worth stopping!

This is a beautiful place to stop and see but was so disappointed with all the trash that was left there. Please take your trash with you to avoid this ugly picture!

Just a roadside table with no shade. Trash cans full. Parking lot is small—maybe two passenger cars or one smaller RV so not a place to depend on as an available space. View is lovely yes but you cannot wander into the lava flows from here since the rocks are so sharp. Better spend the $3 for a day use pass at the Valley of Fires park where there’s a bathroom and shade and a...
