When you’re gallivanting around town with loved ones, an ideal finish to the day is to enjoy elegant wines tastefully crafted to stimulate the olfactory senses. The building in which this winery is operated is less than to be desired. As you enter the facility, the visual presentation is welcoming but lacks the warmth of holiday music, and then once at the counter, the staff lacked personality: foregoing eye contact, general personality, and efficiency. After we’ve selected our flight options, the bartender began to prepare our order, but even after 5 minutes was not able to complete one line of flights before she got sidetracked with helping another customer, ringing them up and conducting a completely separate conversation. Frankly, we hadn’t paid at this point and should have simply left due to the lack of adequate customer service. Only after we were served our flights did the staff turn on Christmas music. But I digress; we sucked it up and waited only to be disappointed by sub-par wine that likely could be compared to horse manure. This a sad excuse for a winery and is lucky to still be open for this long. Unless you like vomiting in your mouth at the sheer thought of drinking this wine, steer clear and find a different vendor for...
Read moreMet the owners at an event during the fall hosted at Christian Clay Winery!! They were at the event providing samples of their wine, very friendly folks and their wine is awesome. Based on the experience at this event a friend and I decided to visit their winery in Monongahela which is a bit of a drive. We wished to sample more of their wines and buy some for the holidays. The lady that was working at the winery on the Saturday after Thanksgiving was not very friendly and didn't seem to want to do wine tastings with us. she also made some rude comments while we were tasting. We would have gladly paid for the tastings for better treatment. Perhaps she thought we were only going to buy a bottle or two. We wanted to sample about 8 different kinds because we were buying a case. The business could do much better with someone friendly at the winery to provide tastings. Could also have done without the rude comments. Their wine is very good and I would give it a five. The treatment by the lady working when we visited was awful and I give her a One, which brings the over all...
Read moreMy bf and I were in town visiting some friends that evening and we had some time to kill. This winery was close to the house so we thought we would check it out. My bf called in advance to make sure we could do a tasting (just in case they were having a private event or something). My bf: Hi. are you open for tastings today? Winery: Um..Yeah. That was it. We arrive and there is one lady working. She isn't welcoming but not unfriendly either. We sit down for a tasting. The tasting come in plastic shot cups. My bf and I aren't picky and we don't care we can have fun anywhere. As we start tasting wines, the woman working becomes more chatty and friendly. Then when I said we were going to buy a case she was very nice. They have alot of wines to taste from dry red and whites, to sweet red and whites and some fruit wines. We didn't drink the fruit wines but we liked enough of what we sampled to buy a case. The wine is also priced...
