This place is so peaceful! Little Tallapoosa Park (ran by Carroll County) is a great little park! Our first site was #9 it was perfect fit for our truck and 43ft camper and to park our large suv behind it. Full hook ups, playground with swings, 1 washer/1 dryer with bathrooms across from playground. Has Pavilions you can rent for parties as well with tables then a separate swing set near the Pavilions. Has a splash pad but it closed yesterday for the season 😔. Across from #9 is a set of swings as well.
We are in #5 now and it is small and has a "drop off" so you really cant use the front of the site. Would be perfect for driveable rvs but not very long 5th wheel friendly lol only our truck (single cab flat bed) and trailer fit. We have to pull our car up the incline to fit it in the site. Not sure your supposed to 🤔
Super peaceful out here! Will definitely come back! 30$ a night full hook ups, 1.75 for w/d, playground, several walking trails some paved some not take your pick and lake and pond for fishing. Your car tag comes with the site also they have gates that close at 8 but give you a code to freely come and go.
We had an issue with some one who didnt camp here 🙄 they were driving and had stopped my 15 yr old got caught in the rain fishing and got a bit lost found his way back into the park soaking wet. Stopped to wipe his face off and a truck spun water all over him once he got done wiping his face off. Reversed to try to hit him afterwards. He jumped out of the way close to a dumpster thats on site. 😔 other than that we've really enjoyed it. Camp hosts were notified and went out to look for the truck. They are also seeing if it registered and paid to come into the park as he told them the make and...
Read moreThis is a beautiful park, you have to call or make a reservation in person. They have a really great and efficient system here, you arrive and pick up your ticket and receipt in their mailbox if you do it by phone, and place the parking decal in the window and the red card with your name goes on the post for the campsite you pick, the tent sites are a bit close together, but you have some privacy with trees in between and you can choose whichever one you want when you get there. .(For instance, I had a worker’s truck parked next to my site for several hours, which felt disruptive and compromised the privacy I did have.)Cell signals and hotspot on your phone has a great signal if you are working remote. The tent site have outlets which are very helpful. Its pretty slow during the week, I came on a weekday the only downside is that I did not feel welcomed here at all, and was treated with unusual scrutiny an suspicion by the hosts a male and female, the female however was very unpleasant, I paid for a campsite, yet was asked if am I am camping while setting up at an actual campsite! and was visited TWICE by these hosts to verify if am really here to camp, yet Its in their system, and I had the parking decal on full display in the window and vehicle registered. I do not appreciate feeling harassed, and I feel I was targeted because of their own personal bias, Mcintosh Reserve Park is very similar, but far more welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of privacy. I recommend them instead, I will never...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful park we used to tent camp at and we haven’t been there in a few years. We called to see if sites were available the day before and Beth answered the phone and said “Sites are available” in a cold tone that I remarked on to my partner. We packed and drove two hours the next day. The entire tent loop was completely empty and we chose site 24. The next morning we learned that site was booked the next day and we would have to move and that tent campers now can stay only 5 days. Then they have to leave for 3 weeks. We asked Beth why when we called she hadn’t let us know sites can now be booked in advance and which ones were free, and that there is a 5 day limit (instead of the standard 2 weeks.) Beth lied and claimed she told me on the phone. I don’t know what has happened to her but she’s clearly unhappy at her job.
Then the prisoners came by at 730 am with leaf blowers and tractors. A lovely way to wake up? Could they wait until 9 am perhaps?
So we packed for two hours, drove for two hours, set up camp for two hours only to find the next day our site was advanced booked and we have to move, and that there is now a 5 day limit and we were awakened by the metallic roar of the leaf blowers.
IE management is not great right now.
The limit on camping is their way of dealing w a homeless vagrant problem. I think there could have been a better way. But if that’s the situation in this pretty park then let callers know on the phone so they don’t waste...
