Beautiful golf course but it is overshadowed by horrible service. I've been golfing at Duncan courses for over a year and had nothing but positive experiences. I usually play at Wolf Run but figured I'd try Eagle Valley as its run by the same company, boy was that a mistake. The bar & grill is full of unhelpful and disrespectful individuals. My family and I played the West course which is a good distance from the clubhouse. On hole 11, we called the bar & grill. We asked if they delivered, to which the girl responded in a rude condescending tone"no we don't do that here, you can drive over here if you want anything". We were a good 20 mins from the clubhouse at this point. So we asked if the snack truck would be coming around as we hadn't seen it in 2+ hrs. My inquiry was once again met with a rude "maybe she's on lunch, I don't know". I asked if she would call the snack cart and got a "we don't do that, you will have to wait". We didn't see the snack cart for the rest of our round. It was 100 degrees out and all we wanted was to buy some water and snacks and instead of refreshments, we got attitude. I will not be returning to Eagle Valley as it seems the high Duncan standards...

We played the Eagle Valley West course and we really enjoyed our day at this nice and very affordable course. I can’t give it top marks because it missed on a few levels for me. First off is that this is a course in the desert so hot days and there was nowhere on the course to refill my water bottle except the one bathroom sink. I live in Sun Lakes AZ and that sure would not fly on our desert courses. Also there are no ball washers anywhere.

A couple other misses are that they have quite a few sprinklers that need work so there were quite a few places that were over watered and many puddles. Also no beverage cart so again just that one bathroom sink for a refill. Ohh and forget about having any sand in the bunkers…

Some positives too…. The fairways were lush and green as well as the roughs. The greens were in great shape and the had some challenging breaks. The golf carts are gas powered but were in excellent shape and pretty new. They service in the bar from the bar tender was exceptional and it made our turn a treat. And the price was super reasonable too.

In my mind the positives out weigh the negatives and I would happily return to...

I visit Reno a few times annually and try to hit various courses. This time I wanted to try the Eagle Valley CG in Carson. The front counter staff were great. They have an East or West course option, I took East. The course is largely flat with a few sparse tres, so if you want to pull out the big stick, this is the course. Wide fairways and the rough was mowed low enough to see an errant ball. The greens were mostly in good shape, as the tee boxes. However, numerous bunkers were in need of attention. And, there is a trench that is not clearly visible from the 18th and 10th tee boxes. Be careful to layup so you don’t lose your back in the trench and broken sod/water areas. There are restrooms available. Most of the fairways were in good shape but several could use some attention. Also, the wind can present a challenge so keep that in mind. So, I gave the rating a 3-star because much of the maintenance could be addressed and the course could be a much better experience. I look forward to returning to give it...

To be fair, they are working to upgrade the overall experience. Obvious signs of work being done to the course, improving the pro shop, and expanding the dining/bar area. The bugs are still a big problem. Mosquitoes, biting flies, and other flying nuisances. It's worse than any other course I have played in Carson City or the surrounding area. Greens are rough and bumpy. Some sand traps are packed dirt. Other traps have new sand in them. Coyotes are common and are unafraid of golfers. Magpies stole granola bars out of our cart while we were putting. I understand that there is little that can be done about this. However, I thought this was important to include in a review.

Great local golf course, two courses East and West course. East is a straight forward golf course, easier holes and less technical. The West course has more terrain features and is very fun to play. Great 360 degree views when playing either course! They have a great pro shop that offers great deals on any golf equipment you might need along with a bar with food options. The cost of the rounds are reasonably priced and a great way to get out and enjoy some golf!
