I really enjoy this place and it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I love how it's somewhat secluded, away from the road but still accessible. The all natural, outdoor hot springs are really nice; there are two separate pools that are a distance away from each other. The last time I came here. I came in early summer and it was a bit of a hike but pretty easy to get to. This time, I came in March and there was still a ton of snow, so it was pretty tricky and slippery to navigate my way to the springs from the parking lot. Very very steep grade getting to the trail. It's still accessible but not for those who have any trouble walking/hiking. I personally would recommend going during warm weather when there is no snow on the ground.
My main issue is that during my last visit the water was FAR too hot for me. It was actually so hot that I could not fully immerse myself in the water. There is an adjustable pipe that adds cold water to the spring, however I could not get it to add any more than a little at a time. And when I tried to adjust the flow it didn't do much at all. I couldn't get it to put enough cold water in to make the temperature tolerable.
I don't know if this is my personal problem with not understanding how it works, or if the pipe is just not working correctly.
Either way this is a nice spot and if you can tolerate the Heat it is totally worth it. only about half an hour away from Cascade...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at these hot springs! During the winter it was very cold and snow was practically dumping on us as we sat on the springs. It was magical! Getting down the short trail to the springs was very precarious. The trail was very steep and icy so most of my friends just sat and slid down to the bottom. At the time there was a rope tied along the trees to the bottom to help. I recommend bringing a large trash bag or some other plastic bag to keep your clothes and shoes dry during the winter. Bringing a pair of water shoes or something similar is also recommended because it's all rocks you're climbing over to get to the pools. This was my first time here and it was a blast with the winter snow. I hope to come here again soon and maybe experience it in other seasons...
Read moreThis was such a great experience! Highly recommend it. I will warn you it is a fairly steep decent to the hot springs if you are elderly or toddler/baby age. We brought our mother-in-law, and she had a difficult time getting down to get in but was able to slowly. This is a great natural(ish) hot spring. I say natural l(ish) because the pools were a bit man made and you can adjust the temperature by a basic design with hoses/PVC pipe that are adding hot and cold water into 2 separate pools the size of a hot tub. If they didn't do this the hot spring water is way too hot so it's a very cool...
