I’m a bit biased because I’ve been coming to Sebago Lake State Park since I was a kid in the 1980’s, but out of everywhere I’ve been in the entire country, this state park is my favorite hands-down for swimming. The water is crystal clear, usually the perfect temp, and is big enough to accommodate those who like to swim out further. The beach usually has lifeguards for those worried about that, but the depth is fairly shallow - I’m only 6’2” and the water only comes up to my eyes if I stand on my toes. There is a concession stand for those who end up with an appetite but there’s also the “old reliable” convenience store called “Bob’s” at the entrance road to the park. There are also multiple bathrooms, which are unisex, as well as a spot that has water jets for rinsing feet. There’s a playground for the kids, plenty of shade under trees, and nothing dangerous in the water. There’s even a boat launch located in the park. It costs $6 to enter the park if you’re a Mainer and $8 otherwise. I will always come back here and have brought multiple friends over the past few decades and will continue to do so. Sebago Lake State Park makes me proud to be a Mainer.

This is our favorite place to spend lake days. It's clean, there is a ton of shade, and plenty of picnic tables to go around.

Lovely sandy beach. Warm water. Bathrooms were OK. No paper towels. No lights, but it was still daytime, so it was ok.

No lifeguards Boat had no one on it and floated far into the swim zone - I got yelled at for pushing it back out and anchoring it so no one got hurt lol And there was a fight that broke out with 17 people in the parking lot- they kept hasing with us to give them our phone or a ride - made us a few minutes late to leave because we couldn’t find a ranger to handle the huge brawl going on…we get to the gate at 8:11 a ranger tried to ticket us $30 because we were late …I told him I had a video of said fight and since no one was there to handle it we were haggled ! There is nothing signed that agrees to these fees or signs posted showing such. Just seems very grimy all around this year. (We also paid for a...

Water is extremely clean and was it very cold in June But since it was hot out that felt very nice. There is picnic tables and grills here. If we had had a cooler with us on vacation we could have had a very nice day. But we did have a couple hours of good swimming before we left. There is sand and it's pretty deep in places like there's a drop off so I did fall once but that's because I'm too old to be walking on Sand. That's not the beach's fault. Everything problems. The bathroom was up at the parking lot so you did have to walk up to the bathroom but it was an actual bathroom...
