From 1968 to 1983 my Family camped every summer on Trickey Pond and adored every minute, no matter the Campground owners. When we started camping there, we had a large tent to accommodate the 6 of us, when it was owned and operated as "Bosworth's Family Circle Campground". Doug Bosworth and his family took amazing care of every nook and cranny of every site, the beaches, the bath houses, the play areas, the rec-hall/store, the harbor and the roads! A few years later, a nice family, attempted to continue the care of the place, when they purchased and renamed it "Guest's Family Circle Campground", but Joyce Guest and her family just couldn't live up to the previous excellence in care of Trickey Pond's Campsite. When they realized that it was just too much to continue, it went up for sale again.
This time it was then purchased by a couple of long-time summer resident families, who did not wish to see their beloved Summer Vacation Home on the Ever Beautiful, Trickey Pond to curl up and die off. Once it had become "K's Family Circle Campground" (after the two families last names that began w/the letter K), that 'Olde Time Love & Care', was reunited with Trickey's Camping Area; at least for several years.
After 1983, i had lost all contact with any of its business, other than driving into, and all through, the campground in 1988, another time in 2005, and the last time was 9.11.18. Much to my surprise, it is now part of a KOA. Sadly, the Circles are no longer differentiated from the entirety to the rest of the campground, and unfortunately, it truly hasn't any structure of any kind, to it.
Thankfully, the loons were heard, the water was warm, the swimmming bouys and docks were in place on what we fondly used to refer to one of the beaches, as "The Flats' Beach". The other, larger used beach on the campground's 2 circles, we referred to as "The Hills" Beach, no lo ger seem to exist as a swim area, but as a Boat Docking Beach. As for Tickey Pond's Family Circles grounds....there's no going home again. But, Trickey is still wonderful, and i assume that there are numerous other areas to enjoy its well loved charms!
