My kids wanted to go to a zoo. Wyoming doesn’t have one, and we weren’t up for a drive to Colorado or Montana, so we finally went to Werner Wildlife Museum, something we’ve always wanted to check out and just never did… until now. It’s free to visit and has hundreds of real animals on display, over 400 birds, fish, and mammals from Wyoming and around the world. You’ll see everything from owls and big horn sheep to bears, moose, and other critters you don’t usually get to see up close. There’s even a kid-friendly interactive area called “The Lair” for hands-on learning. Seeing these animals in person felt way different than just reading about them or watching videos. The kids were actually paying attention, asking questions, and noticing details they’d never caught in books. It’s simple, local, informative, and honestly underrated. We’ll definitely be back. #wyomingwildlife #casperwyoming #homeschoolersoftiktok #thingstodoinwyoming

This little museum has a nice collection of animals and they are preserved way better than the ones I saw at the Harvard Natural History Museum. I liked the taxidermy display and the animals in the basement. I’ve never seen a sage grouse and it was fun to see that and to learn about native Wyoming birds. I was surprised to learn of a few species that frequent WY. I’ll keep on the look out for those in the real world. I LOVE dioramas and they have a huge, fantastic one in the basement. It’s better than the WY one at the natural history museum in New York. That’s what I love about WY museums, they are small, community centered, and done better than the big, famous places. I can tell that it’s a well cared for museum. I’m very glad to have stopped here.

The Werner Wildlife Museum is a diamond in the rough. They have a ton of beautifully selection of mounted animals. Young children seem to have a great time. There's a nice park area behind the building with picnic tables and plenty of shade in the summer time. The Werner Wildlife Museum is a definite must visit in Casper. My only critique is that the museum should be bigger and better funded. Thanks for the great experience.

Museum really? Wild life Killin museum. Where are the Eagles at? LoL. I'm kidding.. Beautiful taxidermy work I had a private tour back in the mid 90s. I knew someone. I liked it but I wasn't used to it. Sad that animals died for our viewing pleasure. But then some become our food.. That's nothing compared to the museums I've seen in personal residences. Sorry Lost my train of thought. Mr Werner did alot for his community...
