Another jewel of Castine. Alice who was on duty when I was there have me a lovely warm welcome. Small museum but with lots to see. A temporary exhibition about local sculptor Clark Fitz-Gerald whilst I was there. The Penobscot Expedition display (the reason I went) was interesting - not facts and figures necessary but thought provoking.

I'm so glad we made it out to Castine. It was such a lovely, peaceful and friendly place to visit. I really liked they had a map of the town readily available near the main lot. That made exploring so easy. Talking with the woman in the historical society was also enlightening. Everyone we ran into was super friendly.

An absolutely charming exhibit that traces almost 400 years of Castine history. We spent about 45 enjoyable minuets here!

I loved it! Very informational and I learned quit a bit about the area and it's history. This area is also the scene of the worst Naval defeat in U. S. history until The attack on Pearl Harbor in WWII. They have an approximately 10 minute video presentation about the battle. This is a must visit before exploring the town. 10 out of 10, highly recommend this as a stop if your...
