My husband and I were engaged in October 2023 and began looking at wedding venues the month after. We then finalized our booking with Redwood Canyon in January 2024 to give ourselves ample time for planning and financing for our big day on May 26th, 2025. Since we live on the East Coast and majority of our families reside in the Bay Area (I was also born and raised in San Jose), we wanted to find a venue that can provide an all-inclusive package and bring our vision to reality - and Redwood Canyon checked all of those boxes... even going above and beyond. We are very happy with the entire process that led up to our special day and the outcome of our wedding.
1 year prior to the wedding
Despite our wedding being a year out, the team was very accommodating when we asked questions about the overall vibe and venue look. They kept us updated with some of the renovations they were making at the time. When we wanted to do a physical tour in June 2024, they fitted us into the schedule and showed us the actual colors of table cloths, napkins, lighting, etc.
8 months prior to the wedding
The wedding team sent us an invitation to the Fall Wedding Extravaganza Fair for late October 2024 - inviting all couples who have confirmed a booking. We unfortunately couldn't make it since we were in the East Coast, but they accommodated us by including our friend couple residing in the Bay Area to take over our place. Our friend couple FaceTimed us during the entire event to make us feel like we were there! They commented how it was nice to try out all the food options they had in the package to know what foods the couple would like to finalize for their wedding day. They also enjoyed the fun activities the DJ curated - there were two opportunities to win a prize from those activities.
5 months prior to the wedding
This was a two-hour call with the wedding team to go over our vision and details. We would recommend going over the binder they'll send in advance after you confirm booking with them. I forgot the name of the person assisting us, but she was very patient and fun to talk with! She reassured us that if there were changes we'd like to make over the next few months, they'd be happy to accommodate.
A few months later, vendors contacted us to further discuss additional details - officiant, cake, DJ, and florist.
1 week prior to the wedding
We had Jacoby as our amazing wedding coordinator and Ana to assist on our special day. They reviewed and confirmed details as well as what to expect on our Rehearsal Day, which was a day prior to our wedding. We loved their positive attitudes and professionalism throughout the process!
Wedding Day
Despite how fast and chaotic it felt, we truly appreciate Jacoby and Ana for keeping us on the right pace, consistently checking in with us, and making sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the day. If there was something I, my husband, our wedding party, and family needed, they were quick to provide it. They also knew where to put our decor and took some behind-the-scenes photos to share with us after our wedding.
We had our photographer, Hayden from A Perfect Impression, who suggested all the right poses, shots, angles, and places to take our photos. Our DJ, Saul, was very accommodating with a song request and some changes that we communicated through email and text - the vibe of the ceremony and reception was perfect. The food was fantastic, the photobooth provided high-quality images that we could receive through a texted link.
Overall
If we could rate it more than 5 stars, we totally would! We are truly happy that we chose Redwood Canyon for our wedding - an amazing and friendly team with a beautiful venue that accommodated 80...
Read moreMarcus and I didn't know anything about planning a wedding. Everyone says that it is one of the most stressful things you can do. We felt like we were running around like chickens with our heads chopped off. Until we found Wedgewood Weddings. With Wedgewood weddings, it was easy and stress free. We initially met with Jonno and while the venue is beautiful, he really sold us. He was charismatic and personable. We could tell that he was very passionate about giving couples their dream wedding. We actually had a lot of fun planning and dreaming of our initial wedding. 2020 was going to be such a big year for weddings and I am so glad that we did not have to fuss over finding available vendors. We were able to bring home a binder and pick and choose what we wanted. It was all the fun of picking things out without the stress of actually planning anything. There were no bridezilla moments and no "absent groom". Wedgewood Weddings made it so seamless that it was easy for both of us to be involved and make every decision together. Then, the world ended. All of a sudden, we are at a standstill at work, there are talks about a 15 day quarantine, toilet paper going missing! We were convinced that this pandemic would blow over and everything would be fine. Our wedding day was far enough in the future that we didn't have to worry about changing any of our plans. Then that 15 day quarantine turned into 7 months. Weddings were getting cancelled left and right. We were starting to feel the pressure and stress about what will happen by November. I remember laying awake at 4am, thinking about all the people that are involved in this wedding, all the money we have already deposited, all the uncertainty buzzing around. We felt guilty and selfish for worrying about whether or not we were still getting married in November. So, I decided to send Wedgewood a text (have I mentioned that I LOVE the text feature?) and by the next morning, Zoe calls to talk us down off the ledge. Every time we talk to the Wedgewood team, we feel infinitely better. She assured us that everything would be okay and one way or another, we will get married. Wedgewood was very gracious in how they handled this pandemic. They understood that while they have a business to run, they also have couples to take care of. Although everyone was scared and stressed about the unknown, Wedgewood really took the bull by the horns. They took a very difficult situation and came up with a solution that gave us confidence again. They did everything they could to make sure that we did not feel the strain that the pandemic was causing. They listened to all our concerns and actually understood how we were feeling at the time. We had an entire team on our side and that provided us a lot of comfort. They gave us several different options and were more than willing to work with us. In the end, we were able to come up with a plan that worked for everyone. Ceremony only with a short cocktail hour. It would be limited to 50 people and completely outdoors. I felt very assured that everything would be as safe as possible. I know that everyone says that weddings are never perfect and some things are bound to go wrong. Our wedding day was absolutely PERFECT. I cannot think of a single thing that I would change. The ceremony was beautiful and the short cocktail hour was enough for us to mingle with our guests. We were actually talking about how much we prefer this shorter event over what would have been a 6 hour wedding. Zoe was an amazing coordinator and made sure everything went according to plan. She constantly checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay. I cannot say enough great things about Zoe and the rest...
Read moreTo make make a long story short our wedding was supposed to happen May 17th, due to Covid-19 and not able to have to get everything situated, dresses for bridesmaids not able to pick up, photographer unavailable, etc. we decided we would want to move the wedding to October, unfortunately Wedgewood does not have that dates available, the only dates this year available is the day after Halloween and the day after Christmas. Not being the dates we want we asked for our money back after they offered others their money back they're not willing to do the same because we're under contract. As stated in civil code 1441 the contract is void due to the situation with the country, however these people are given us the run around. Do not recommend them to anyone in the event that a tragedy happens they will tale your money and run. Considering we only had 2 meetings with them and no services were provided..
Here's a break down of what was provided, also "special meeting", I don't know what special meeting you are talking about.. there's no special meetings in our contract. We met once with one of your reps and once with the wedding cake place. For everyone to see how you operate, here is the break down from my fiancé.
Would Like to the Review by Cris A (My Fiancee) and in response to what one of the owners had commented to him. For background info, we were planning on getting married at Redwood Canyon by Wedgewood Weddings. Our wedding date was May 17th 2020 (yesterday). Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we were not able to have our wedding do to a state wide stay at home order, ordered by our governor. We have paid 50% of the costs of the wedding and once we found out we could not have our wedding we requested a refund. After 2 months the owner of the company has responded to my fiancee's yelp review saying that they have provided services and that the amounts we have paid are not refundable. I would like to go item by item on our invoice and discuss the amount we have paid and the amount of service that was provided: Ceremony Site - We paid $497.50. Ceremony never happened. Cost to Wedgewood $0 Wedding day Coordination, set up & clean up, access to wedding suite for 1.5 hours, all rentals for glassware, tables, china, flatware. We paid $997.50. None of this took place. Cost to Wedgewood $0 Dinner! - We paid $1904.00. We did not have dinner. There was no food made. Cost to Wedgewood $0 Security Fee - There was no event and no security. We paid $110. The cost to Wedgewood $0. Hosted bar - We paid $280.00. There was no hosted bar. Cost to Wedgewood $0. Ministry Services - We paid $200. There was no ceremony. Cost to Wedgewood $0. 7.Cake - We paid 168.00. There was no wedding cake. Cost to Wedgewood $0 Service Charge (22%) - We paid $908.40 in service charges! There was no service provided. Cost to Wedgewood $0. Taxes - We paid $461.94 in taxes on the no services provided. Cost to Wedgewood $0
We have paid thousands of dollars for all of these services, none of which have taken place. We have been trying to reach out for over 2 months now and they wait until the day after our event to finally respond. I am just heartbroken over not being able to have our wedding and this company is putting us through the worst experience in which was supposed to be the best day of our lives. To keep our money when no services were provided is just wrong...
