This is a great little park. Has a boat launch, picnic tables, a disc golf course and 8 regulation sized horseshoe pits. I posted a photo of the pits and I swear, it is not a cemetery. But with a scarcity of horseshoe players in 2023, it’s about as busy. There’s always ample parking, and whether in your car or on foot, you'll enjoy a pretty view of the river and a diversity of scenery. Few parks have this combo of interesting visuals, a slow moving river reveals huge barges quietly floating by as cars and trains cross the high bridges next to the highway. It’s not Hawaii, but there’s something attractive and peaceful about it. I think it’s fair to call this place a hidden gem, provided you can tolerate old concrete picnic tables. I’ve learned from other reviewers that apparently, these hard, crumbling, ubiquitous beasts are not beloved. Who knew? Anyhow the park is open dawn to dusk. However, park maintenance leaves much to be desired, particularly with the baffling closure of bathroom facilities. This perplexing occurrence, not isolated to this park alone, strips the enjoyment for visitors who are left inconvenienced.
