This is a great little park. Has a boat launch, picnic tables, a disc golf course and 8 regulation sized horseshoe pits. I posted a photo of the pits and I swear, it is not a cemetery. But with a scarcity of horseshoe players in 2023, it’s about as busy. There’s always ample parking, and whether in your car or on foot, you'll enjoy a pretty view of the river and a diversity of scenery. Few parks have this combo of interesting visuals, a slow moving river reveals huge barges quietly floating by as cars and trains cross the high bridges next to the highway. It’s not Hawaii, but there’s something attractive and peaceful about it. I think it’s fair to call this place a hidden gem, provided you can tolerate old concrete picnic tables. I’ve learned from other reviewers that apparently, these hard, crumbling, ubiquitous beasts are not beloved. Who knew? Anyhow the park is open dawn to dusk. Drive in early and park under a shade tree because you’ll probably want to stick...

Roger Point Park, situated beautifully by the Arkansas River, offers a spacious landscape, ample picnic tables, and a welcome respite from the bustle of old highway 66. However, park maintenance leaves much to be desired, particularly with the baffling closure of bathroom facilities. This perplexing occurrence, not isolated to this park alone, strips the enjoyment for visitors who are left inconvenienced. It would be appreciated if local authorities addressed this issue, allowing everybody to fully enjoy what this charming little park...

Enjoyed fishing here from kayak launching dock. I caught a couple little bullhead catfish. The second one the a herring wanted me to give to it. It flew up on the dock and seemed to be saying I'll eat that fish if you don't want it. I caught the first on a perch and the second one a worm. There was a public...

The boat ramp is needing lots of help. Especially at the bottom. It needs dredged out or something. The parking is ok. Luckily the police have started patrolling it more. The picnic areas are in pretty sad shape. The college rowing team has taken over.
