What an incredible day we had at Arizona Horseback Adventures! Where do I start? I will start with Dodi! She was able to get us all in, waivers signed, and got us excited to be there! We went out to celebrate a birthday, and ended up having more fun than we could have ever hoped for! The ride was amazing! We were on the shortest ride offered, and it did not disappoint. Our wranglers; Jordan, Justin, Kenny, and Joshua were top notch! They adjusted all riders throughout the ride, and gave helpful tips to us to make sure we all enjoyed the entire ride. After, we were able to rent the cantina, and spent time grilling and hanging out. Definitely a must if you are looking to spend some quality time with your team, family, or whoever you ride with. Finally, I want to give a huge shoutout, and congratulations to Donna, the owner of the Arizona Horseback Adventure. Donna is changing the way that horseback riding facilities are run. The horses are cared for, as though they are all her "children." It was great getting to know Donna, and hearing the passion she has for her business. We will definitely be back!

You don't get what you pay for at AHA, you get more! I chose them because they were one of the few with a 4hr ride (the typical 1-2hrs is not enough) and one of the cheapest for that amount of time. But that said, this did not feel like a bargain experience at all. First, I was lucky enough to be the only person to sign up for that time slot and rather than try to reschedule me due to a rider minimum, I got a private tour! Also, I felt double lucky when I was given the handsomest horse on the lot. Scout was like a Tesla. Perfect autopilot all the way. He was also super sneaky in waiting for the last second to turn his head and munch on some trees, which I enjoyed since they're not supposed to be eating them. My guide was also fantastic and I honestly feel bad that I don't remember her name. Like me, she was in her 20's, so the whole experience felt like I was just out with a friend hanging out. As far as the route itself, it pretty much had it all. Great views, multiple water crossings, ridge crossings, rocky terrain, sandy terrain, and really cool cacti.

Sunset ride 1hr, we chose to do the one hour ride as Arizona was experiencing high heat (more than normal) really wish we’d gone longer. Bandit was a great little horse, I have ridden for over 20 years and he was a little dude. My husband who’s ridden a handful of times felt super safe. Sunset was beautiful, seen a few rabbits whilst out. Horses are very well cared for and loved, great little touches like having some treats for the end of the ride ( we brought some apples with us that they absolutely loved) enjoyed the fact that you didn’t at any point feel rushed to leave we spent a good 10 minutes giving the horses the treats that where provided and apples. First western experience if we ever come back to phoenix ( in the winter 🥵) we will definitely be back to do the longer ride / over night ride. From a horse person horses where all in great condition and had good fitting tack ( individual tack for each horse). Highly recommend 🐎

Well unfortunately I have to come on here and instead of giving a great review and 5 stars I have to go with 1. I scheduled a 1.5hr ride with the family for my daughter's 13th Birthday. It's all she wanted to do and all she had talked about for weeks leading up. Her and her friend got all dressed up and excited for the ride and we drove an hour or so to get there.

We arrived on time to an empty parking lot. I found it odd but none the less we were ready. There was one other vehicle parked somewhat behind the office but clearly not a patron spot.

So we walked up and found the office locked. I attempted to call several times with no answer. Then we could hear two distinct voices in a trailer behind the office, great, let's go knock and find out what's going on.

Knock knock, no answer. Another knock and call out only to be ignored. We waited around for an hour or so hoping someone would show up and nada.

The following day I did receive a call back from a male (did not get his name) I informed him of the experience and how it pretty much ruined my daughter's birthday. He clarified some details and then offered us to schedule another day. I told him there was absolutely no way I would patronize a company who treated their customers like that no call no show when I spent over $600. He said he would make some phone calls and then call me back. I have yet to receive a phone call back nor do I really expect one at this point.

I guess this review is not for the ride or experience itself since I did not get to do so, however, customer service gets a HUGE thumbs down. The guy told me we were the only (5) scheduled at that time which that's not really my problem if it turned into a private shin dig and so they wanted to cancel. I paid good money for it. Needless to say, we won't ever be booking with this company ever again.

I did get a refund, but I did not get compensation for the booking fees of like $35.

Buyers just beware is all. Hope this was an isolated incident. Based on the guy not calling me back nor ever even apologizing, I'm going...

So I figured I would try to get a same day reservation, but the website advised that while there were spots left, I would have to call and or email. I did both and on the phone Jim told me they had no openings but via email Donna advised that they did. Long story short Donna set me up with same day reservations. We drove up all the way to the ranch and were very rudely told by Jim that it was not going to happen. I told him to please check with Donna as she had confirmed and even requested our height and weight. He did not care at all. He said the best he could do was get us in the following day. We Reluctantly agreed. Next day round two we were back up there again. Filled out all the forms then handed him my credit card and he told me that I knew he needed cash. I said no, that I did not know that, And he said very rudely that Donna had told me that. I told him that she in fact, had not. Here we go again I thought. He told me I had to move away from the desk as I did not have the cash. My wife and I scrounged through our pockets, wallet purse and the car and eventually came up with most of the cash. We asked Jim if he could make an exception and that I could get the rest right after the ride. He begrudgingly agreed. Eventually, we got to do our ride but all in all I probably drove 90 to 100 miles extra through no fault of mineand of course had to make a late night run to the ATM and rush back to pay him. To summarize Jim turned us away on day one when he shouldn’t have, and I almost got turned away a second time because nobody told me I needed cash. This place obviously has severe communication issues and Jim is extremely rude. There are comments on here that he dislikes foreigners and I would not be surprised if that is the case. Very, very bad experience. Obviously will...

Have you ever walked up to a place you haven't been before and you start getting bad vibes, and you later learned your vibes were on to something? Welcome to Spur Cross. My wife and I arrived (for our reservation!!!) and we see no one around and out of the corner of my eye I see what looks to be maybe a ranch hand standing next to a horse. So I expected to be welcomed with a "Can I help you?" or "Good Morning"; but oh no; the employee starts insulting the clothing that I'm wearing (it was our anniversary so I was wearing Old West clothes to get some nice pictures). After 5 minutes of going through that nonsense, he asks me what we are there for. Seriously? Oh, we just drove an hour to be insulted and pull into some ranch just for the heck of it. He then tells me 3 wranglers are a no call/no show and that we just as soon head back whence we came. Then a family that came in after us (from Nebraska) were told the wonderful news as well. The excuse I was given is that its near the end of the season and the guides have probably moved on. Sorry, Unacceptable! If this is the case, there are a number of ways to prevent people that have reservations driving to your ranch for a cancelled reservation. In addition, looking at the employee that did show up for work, I thought how the other 3 must have been pulled from the bottom of the barrel. We then head into town and start seeing flyers for this stable. In talking with shop owners and patrons I asked the question, "Why post flyers all around town when you don't have anyone to give a tour anyways?" I tried to call the owners twice and was lied to the first time on when they would be available. This place is in serious need of a business manager and their employee needs classes in customer service (which does exist...
