Well unfortunately I have to come on here and instead of giving a great review and 5 stars I have to go with 1. I scheduled a 1.5hr ride with the family for my daughter's 13th Birthday. It's all she wanted to do and all she had talked about for weeks leading up. Her and her friend got all dressed up and excited for the ride and we drove an hour or so to get there.
We arrived on time to an empty parking lot. I found it odd but none the less we were ready. There was one other vehicle parked somewhat behind the office but clearly not a patron spot.
So we walked up and found the office locked. I attempted to call several times with no answer. Then we could hear two distinct voices in a trailer behind the office, great, let's go knock and find out what's going on.
Knock knock, no answer. Another knock and call out only to be ignored. We waited around for an hour or so hoping someone would show up and nada.
The following day I did receive a call back from a male (did not get his name) I informed him of the experience and how it pretty much ruined my daughter's birthday. He clarified some details and then offered us to schedule another day. I told him there was absolutely no way I would patronize a company who treated their customers like that no call no show when I spent over $600. He said he would make some phone calls and then call me back. I have yet to receive a phone call back nor do I really expect one at this point.
I guess this review is not for the ride or experience itself since I did not get to do so, however, customer service gets a HUGE thumbs down. The guy told me we were the only (5) scheduled at that time which that's not really my problem if it turned into a private shin dig and so they wanted to cancel. I paid good money for it. Needless to say, we won't ever be booking with this company ever again.
I did get a refund, but I did not get compensation for the booking fees of like $35.
Buyers just beware is all. Hope this was an isolated incident. Based on the guy not calling me back nor ever even apologizing, I'm going...
Read moreSo I figured I would try to get a same day reservation, but the website advised that while there were spots left, I would have to call and or email. I did both and on the phone Jim told me they had no openings but via email Donna advised that they did. Long story short Donna set me up with same day reservations. We drove up all the way to the ranch and were very rudely told by Jim that it was not going to happen. I told him to please check with Donna as she had confirmed and even requested our height and weight. He did not care at all. He said the best he could do was get us in the following day. We Reluctantly agreed. Next day round two we were back up there again. Filled out all the forms then handed him my credit card and he told me that I knew he needed cash. I said no, that I did not know that, And he said very rudely that Donna had told me that. I told him that she in fact, had not. Here we go again I thought. He told me I had to move away from the desk as I did not have the cash. My wife and I scrounged through our pockets, wallet purse and the car and eventually came up with most of the cash. We asked Jim if he could make an exception and that I could get the rest right after the ride. He begrudgingly agreed. Eventually, we got to do our ride but all in all I probably drove 90 to 100 miles extra through no fault of mineand of course had to make a late night run to the ATM and rush back to pay him. To summarize Jim turned us away on day one when he shouldn’t have, and I almost got turned away a second time because nobody told me I needed cash. This place obviously has severe communication issues and Jim is extremely rude. There are comments on here that he dislikes foreigners and I would not be surprised if that is the case. Very, very bad experience. Obviously will...
Read moreHave you ever walked up to a place you haven't been before and you start getting bad vibes, and you later learned your vibes were on to something? Welcome to Spur Cross. My wife and I arrived (for our reservation!!!) and we see no one around and out of the corner of my eye I see what looks to be maybe a ranch hand standing next to a horse. So I expected to be welcomed with a "Can I help you?" or "Good Morning"; but oh no; the employee starts insulting the clothing that I'm wearing (it was our anniversary so I was wearing Old West clothes to get some nice pictures). After 5 minutes of going through that nonsense, he asks me what we are there for. Seriously? Oh, we just drove an hour to be insulted and pull into some ranch just for the heck of it. He then tells me 3 wranglers are a no call/no show and that we just as soon head back whence we came. Then a family that came in after us (from Nebraska) were told the wonderful news as well. The excuse I was given is that its near the end of the season and the guides have probably moved on. Sorry, Unacceptable! If this is the case, there are a number of ways to prevent people that have reservations driving to your ranch for a cancelled reservation. In addition, looking at the employee that did show up for work, I thought how the other 3 must have been pulled from the bottom of the barrel. We then head into town and start seeing flyers for this stable. In talking with shop owners and patrons I asked the question, "Why post flyers all around town when you don't have anyone to give a tour anyways?" I tried to call the owners twice and was lied to the first time on when they would be available. This place is in serious need of a business manager and their employee needs classes in customer service (which does exist...
