What a great park. It is the location of a handful of festivals and events throughout the year. The highlight being the Sleepy Hollow production, which is well worth standing in line for a couple hours to get tickets. Check out the website to find out the day they go on sale. If you don't get tickets that day, you probably won't. On non festival days, you can walk and explore the farm. On the backside of the park is a trail among the surrounding fields.

I was first introduced to Buckley Homestead on a field trip as a 2nd grader in the early 90’s. It was fascinating to learn and see about life years before us. Years later I’ve visited on event days they have had and I can say it has not lost its appeal. They have great family events and it’s something for everyone of any age can enjoy. As long as you like history and antique type of things, I recommend checking it out.

Visited against in May 2021; such a perfect stop as we travel the country. Highly recommend this place for a piece of farm life, a step of history, and a chance to stretch one's legs.

7/2020 We had a great time here today, 7/16/20. Four kids (9-1yo) loved running and exploring. Goats, chicken, gardens, sheep, geese, horses, and pigs rolling in the mud. A perfect farm! We even got lucky by exploring all the way to the old cabin where we found a working outhouse (a rare find in these times)....

A living history farm experience for the family. There are frequent Saturday morning demonstrations by knowledgeable, dedicated volunteers, and occasional special demonstration events. It's a pleasant place to picnic, visit the animals, and learn a little Indiana history. The park is open daily until sunset. It is operated by the Lake County Parks Dept. They post schedules on their Facebook page, and they can also be found on the lakecountyparks dot...
