Purchased a park ticket-Fraudulant charges on credit card. Purchased the 7 days park entrance ticket for $35. The guy at NPS (Park service ctr.) Matt was too friendly. Found out upon my return that he swiped our credit card for a fraudulant taxi ride with a company listed in Queens (~$34) NewYork City on the same day. Go figure how can one be in Zion at 3pm local time while taking a taxi ride in NYC. It was a chip swipe transaction, not a phone or internet purchase as I learned from my credit card company. Which gave me the suspicion that he/Matt had his swiping device in the Kolob Canyons Visitor ctr while milking visitors who buy tickets at this not so popular entrance point. He did mention he was from NYC, when I mentioned I was from NJ. I will be following up with the park services to find more about this low-life Federal govt worker. Check your credit card statement if you still have time to dispute. The road up to the look out is closed due to recent wash off. However, you can walk to the view point within 20min. If you are in Zion near the main park entrance, this spot is not worth going to if you have...
Read moreI'm not happy about my experience today. I was on my way up to the Cedar City area to camp and stopped here for their mountain spring water like I have done before. Then, a worker came out and rudely asked me what I was doing, like I was committing a crime. He went on to tell me that they were low on water, and the water was only for hikers. He then got on me about filling up my 5 gallon jugs that were nowhere near empty. I just wanted to top them off.
I understand that it is summer, so there hasn't been a lot of rain, but he could have been nice about it. I have seen different people filling up big jugs, with no one coming out to hell at them. Lastly, there are no signs saying anything about non current visitors filling up water or that it was low.
As someone who hikes a lot, travels full-time, and frequents National Parks, etc. I can not believe how unfriendly he was.
P.S. I wasn't going into the park today, but he failed to even ask me if I was or not. He just assumed that I was a...
Read moreThe staff/ranger at the main Zion Visitor’s center recommended that we check out Kolob Canyons and I’m so grateful she was there to speak to because otherwise we would have missed out on this amazing spot!
The park ranger/staff at this much smaller visitor’s center were just as wonderful as the main park center. They were also helping a steady stream of park guests but helped us get the essential information we needed to have an awesome visit. The ranger recommended we take the 5 mile Taylor Creek hike and it was incredible!
I’m so grateful for the park staff who are so reliable and efficient. Without them, the park would be confusing and out trip would have been less efficient and less fun. Thank...
