Our first time camping as a family, and we ended up at Lava point around 9:30 a.m. There was only 6 spots at this first come first serve location -with only 2 available at that time. Super easy to register once you get there and very clean. Even the restroom was surprisingly clean upon arrival. It got kind of smelly at times because it was not a flushing toilet. Our campsite was mega spacious and enough distance from neighbors so no one is really disturbed. There are a few trails from Lava point with breathtaking scenery and wildlife surrounding you. Highly recommended, but also try to arrive early for a good spot! Weather can get a bit wild at times so check before you arrive because there is no signal at all at...

A breath taking view a ove Zion. You can see for miles. The viewpoint is higher than west temple which is visible from there. You can also see most of the canyon the Narrows is in. There are glimpses of the red breaks in the mountain that resemble creaker breaks and Bryce canyon to the northeast. The road to the viewpoint is graded, and we'll maintained. The camp ground was open and appears to be in good shape. There is a vault...

Attempted to go there during our Thanksgiving vacation trip. As we approached about 5k ft elevation after a turn everything was covered in Ice and snow. Really scary if your not familiar or ready for snow. Should've had signs warning people of what is ahead and to make sure your car is ready for possible ice and snow ahead. If I had attempted to drive on it for a few hundred feet I could've...

Lava Point is located off the Kolob Terrace Rd. 25 miles north of Virgin, Utah. There is an easy 0.3 mile walk from the parking area to the lookout. Views are spectacular with sights of the Virgin Valley below. There is a short trail going to a small campground with six sites and also benches and picnic table at the site.
