We reserved this location in July of 2019 for our wedding that was suppose to be on April 4th, 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic started to cause issues in the US and Utah, I tried to contact this venue in the beginning of March to discuss what our options were. I called several times, and all my calls were avoided. I left multiple voicemails asking for someone to call me back to discuss my wedding. After my voicemails went unanswered for about a week, I continued to send emails and make calls daily hoping to get some sort of response.
A week and a half before our wedding, I finally got an email that said they were not able to take calls due to the pandemic. Do they think COVID can spread through talking on the telephone? When trying to sort these things out quickly, they would not call me and left it up to email responses which would take days to get a reply.
I asked that we be able to have a small 1 hour ceremony with less than 30 family members, and they said this would not be possible. They said after I had paid $2500 to reserve this space, that I would be allowed 10 guests to my wedding.
I asked for a refund at this point, and I was told they would have to keep a deposit fee of $400.... How was I suppose to expect this pandemic to happen? This unfortunate circumstance forced me to find a ceremony location in less than a week for my wedding, due to their awful communication skills. Granted, no one could've seen this virus coming and how it would affect things. But the right thing to do would be to provide a full refund, or try to help me have a small ceremony with our immediate families with social distancing measures in place.
Instead, the moment I've been dreaming about for my whole life was ruined. I wasn't given any notice that they were not going to allow me to have my wedding, and I was left scrambling to throw something together last minute. I was stressed and crying daily because of the lack of communication, and when it came down to it all they cared about was stealing $400 from me because a GLOBAL PANDEMIC happened. Completely out of my control.
Do not have your wedding ceremony or reception here! There are much better venues out there that really care about their brides and making their special days go smoothly, or making it right if...
Read moreWe held the reception of my wedding here. It is a great large space. We wanted to have space for eating as well as dancing and BONUS: people could enjoy the great weather on the patio and grass outside. We were able to bring lawn games which were a hit. The Vista had worked with most of our vendors before so there was no hassle there. You can turn the space into whatever you want and the staff is very patient at answering all of the questions you might. I was able to visit the space several times before the wedding to double check the layout and envision what we wanted to make happen which was supper helpful. Oh and I loved the big windows that let in so much...
Read moreWe’ve hosted two weddings here! Very pretty venue, awesome view, great selection of decorations, and all at a cheaper price compared to other venues. The second time we had Casey Chapman as our event host and he was AMAZING!! He was there with us the whole time and helped us with literally everything. The few things that were a bit choppy at the first wedding, Casey came to the rescue at the second wedding. He really went above and beyond! Love the Vista, but we love Casey even more!! Thank you so much, Casey, for being an incredible host and making our night...
