Cedar Key Museum State Park — Attraction in Cedar Key

Nice Florida state park. It has a nature trail, St. Clair Whitman historic home, and an information center museum with displays and staff to answer questions. There are a few items outside to look at as well as places to sit and clean restrooms. For a small fee (or free with your state park pass) you can come to this peaceful quiet park. This is a place for discovering. Bring the kids or just take a romantic get a way. $50 cottages on the water. Everything is old and historic. You'll love it. Buy a brick at the museum to support their efforts. Stop by one of the clam factories. I like Southern Cross Clams. Right on the north side of the main road out of town. You can also by fresh caught blue crab, shrimp and fish. You can ask for a brief tour of the clam operation. Very interesting.

Cedar Key is a place you will never forget. Great sunsets too.

Closed and didn't look like much peeking in. Cedar Key was pretty dull but it is off season still I guess. Only a few restaurants and empty hotels looked to be open. Except for one art boutique, no stores open and many looked permanently closed. Place is a little run down; the storms over the years didn't help I'm sure.
