Read moreThis is a place for discovering. Bring the kids or just take a romantic get a way. $50 cottages on the water. Everything is old and historic. You'll love it. Buy a brick at the museum to support their efforts. Stop by one of the clam factories. I like Southern Cross Clams. Right on the north side of the main road out of town. You can also by fresh caught blue crab, shrimp and fish. You can ask for a brief tour of the clam operation. Very interesting.

Read moreClosed and didn't look like much peeking in. Cedar Key was pretty dull but it is off season still I guess. Only a few restaurants and empty hotels looked to be open. Except for one art boutique, no stores open and many looked permanently closed. Place is a little run down; the storms over the years didn't help I'm sure.
