Nice Florida state park. It has a nature trail, St. Clair Whitman historic home, and an information center museum with displays and staff to answer questions. There are a few items outside to look at as well as places to sit and clean restrooms. For a small fee (or free with your state park pass) you can come to this peaceful quiet park. Whether you explore the history, learn more from the staff, walk the trails or just sit and relax on the front porch rocking chairs or a bench listening to the birds, you will enjoy...

This is a place for discovering. Bring the kids or just take a romantic get a way. $50 cottages on the water. Everything is old and historic. You'll love it. Buy a brick at the museum to support their efforts. Stop by one of the clam factories. I like Southern Cross Clams. Right on the north side of the main road out of town. You can also by fresh caught blue crab, shrimp and fish. You can ask for a brief tour of the clam operation. Very interesting.

Cedar Key is a place you will never forget. Great sunsets too.

Closed and didn't look like much peeking in. Cedar Key was pretty dull but it is off season still I guess. Only a few restaurants and empty hotels looked to be open. Except for one art boutique, no stores open and many looked permanently closed. Place is a little run down; the storms over the years didn't help I'm sure. A little side note I thought peculiar: there was a sign alongside the road as you enter the business area asking everyone to be polite. It made me wonder why it was necessary to ask that in the...

This is the 1st ever museum in Cedar Key. Run by the State, very well kept, clean bathrooms and the surrounding area. The volunteers are very nice, friendly, and informative. Trail Park is awesome. Please do run the QR code to pay $2/person or get the blue envelope by the post upfront and deposit it. Donations are all welcome as well! We took tons of videos to showcase the Museum History. If you like a historical museum, come and visit Cedar Key Museum State Park!

We made a quick stop to this state park while in Cedar Key. The museum felt like a step back in time...70's. 🤔. The display cases provided a look at the many shells found in Florida, some of Florida's history as it relates to the Cedar Key area, and a building on site which was not open due to construction of a ramp...soon to be a teaching location with rooms to view of the historical house. The park ranger was friendly and the building was clean, but dated.
