So the horse trail was decent I just thought when they said tour ride the person would talk to us but it was quiet the entire time made it awkward to just be there I really felt like I may have been annoying the tourist with questions... some of the horses also looked very malnourished.... and maybe because they were old I'm not a horse expert. But our horses constantly stopped to get food along the trail and we were told not to worry because they fed them a whole bucket before. The toir guide was very sweet though both girls- But the kitchen got me to have a bad experience I ordered a chicken sandwich and I know 100 percent it was still raw. When I ate it it was so chewy. The waitress reassured me her husband and her both ate it and said it was not. I apologized because I know I'm the last one to complain about food. But what got me upset was a member from the kitchen staff walked out and sat down and starred my husband and I down like we were the problem. He then began to mumble words under his voice to his friend and continued to give my husband a dirty look. I forced myself to eat the hamburger that they gave me instead so I wouldn't offend the lady. The waitress was sweet but i threw everything up when i got home. I don't think my family will ever recommend this...
Read moreThis is the third time I went riding and if you are a beginning rider, the experience is great. I am a seasoned rider and I enjoyed it however, you don’t get to ride at any speed because they guide you in the trail but the trail is long and very scenic. They even offer details of the areas around you and its history but not too much of it. It’s a peaceful ride and you get to give your horse a treat. Note: even though it says”bring camera” only bring your cell phone because they will use it to take good pictures of you and your group which they do a great job of getting everyone in the pic. The restaurant that is on site - literally walking distance to the barn that you mount the horse - it is a little high priced but really good and the bathrooms are clean (if you don’t mind well water) and the people are very nice and considerate. Everyone under 18 has to wear a helmet so if your kids don’t like that I wouldn’t bring them. The price to ride horses is pretty cheap to me, and the experience is very exciting for the kids. After you are finished I highly recommend going to starved rock where you can see gorgeous waterfalls and beautiful...
Read moreA super cool place with lovely animals especially the ones in the back of the house. An amazing view of the forest and Prarie our state is known to have! Amazing historical sites that the instructor taught us about and he gave us very useful information, especially for the kids. The worker's are so nice and understanding very polite and professional! Cedar Creek Ranch has a great restraunt that I definitely recommend to everyone that wants a refreshing drink and good classic meal. Paul the owner is such a nice guy and is always busy and I'm not surprised because I bet other people love this ranch just as much as I do. Its nice to see that he still takes time to lead a trail and spend time with his customers. The horses are well trained but are stubborn as heck! Haha, they love their leafy greens that's for sure! But I do understand why they don't run their horses due to safety. Just knowing that they do take precautions especially with new riders, makes me know that this place is safe. I'm definitely,...
