I've been going here for the last 19 years. Every time I enjoy what Salmon-Challis has to offer. The landscape is beautiful, the forest is deep and the trails are both plentiful and amazing. Come out well prepared to Challis though and with a vehicle capable of handling some rough terrain to make it easier on yourself. Keep an eye out for wild life. I never saw any Salmon in the Salmon National forest and for that I almost gave it one less of a star for that, lol! I would have if it wasn't for the awesome big mountains that go on forever and the super cool canyons and all of the great roads that are out there to get to all of those places.
