Wicked Awesome Events: Amongst the Oaks — Attraction in Charlemont

I truly cannot say enough about Amongst the Oaks in Charlemont, MA. As a day-of coordinator stepping in to help my best friend on her wedding day, I’ve worked with many venues — but this one stands out above all the rest.

From the moment we arrived, the Long family went above and beyond to ensure everything was absolutely perfect. They provided beautiful en suite accommodations for the bride, groom, and wedding party for the entire weekend — complete with a kitchenette, pool table, emergency baskets in case anything was forgotten, and every thoughtful touch you could imagine. Their attention to detail made the entire weekend seamless and stress-free.

The night before, they helped us with setup and hosted a flawless rehearsal dinner. On the big day, their entire family pitched in — even their children played an important role, managing parking and keeping the younger kids entertained, which made the atmosphere so lighthearted and fun. It truly felt like one big, happy family working together to make sure everything went smoothly.

Amy prepared all of the food, which was hands down some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had — every single guest was raving about it. The owner and his brother worked the bar all night and absolutely crushed it — the drinks were top-notch and the service was incredible.

After the wedding, they even hosted a bonfire after-party which was the perfect ending to a magical night. The next morning, they came back down to help us pack everything up — something I’ve never seen a venue offer, and just another example of how invested they are in creating an amazing experience for their couples.

The entire venue is absolutely stunning — a gorgeous country vibe with handmade furniture and beautiful craftsmanship everywhere you look. Every inch of this venue reflects the love, care, and hard work the Long family pours into every wedding.

I would recommend Amongst the Oaks to every single bride I know. They made my best friend’s wedding one of the most unforgettable days of her life and made the entire planning process so smooth and enjoyable. Amy and Brandon (and the rest of the Amongst the Oaks Team) deserve every single 5 star review and then some. From the first meeting we knew this was it! They made the entire wedding process seamless and easy. It was so great to be able to knock out the majority of our wedding needs with just one vendor. As someone who can get easily overwhelmed especially in social and new situations they explained everything to us, answered every question and even helped me through getting our event insurance. They gave us the opportunity to customize our day in so many way and were open to anything we wanted, suggested and did! The accommodations for the bride/ groom and wedding party were so fun, comfortable and our wedding party were so grateful to be able to stay and get ready right there. It set the tone for a relaxed and fun event. The food and drinks for our rehearsal dinner and wedding were DELICIOUS and we even got to take home leftovers that definitely got eaten throughout the week after. The day of our wedding rain was forecasted but Amy and Brandon stayed completely open to whatever we wanted to do and provided us with a bunch of different options on how we wanted to do everything and didn't pressure us into any specific choice. On the day of we had or heart set on and outside ceremony so they brainstormed for us to have our cocktail hour first and do the ceremony after which worked out amazing! It was great to take some of the pressure off and spend extra time with all of our guests. My one criticism that we heard from our guests was that we all did miss out on some of our open bar time due to ending the cocktail hour and going into the ceremony and coming back for dinner instead of cocktail hour blending into dinner with interruption. Other than that we have no complaints, the property was beautiful and we got so many compliments on everything. I could go on and on about everything amazing detail of the day. Wedding Date: June 15, 2024 Don’t hesitate, Amongst the Oaks is 100% the venue for you! Especially if you enjoy working with creative, kind, detailed, and organized people, you love the great outdoors, you love delicious food, and throwing/attending beautifully orchestrated events. Working with Amy and Brandon has been such an amazing experience. Before visiting Amongst the Oaks, we toured at least 5 venues which we found to be impersonal and overpriced with rigid rules and requirements. We live in Worcester county and loved driving out to Charlemont to meet with Amy and Brandon every so often to discuss details, get to know each other, and visualize our event. We had both our rehearsal dinner with pizza and our 3:30pm wedding with quesadillas at Amongst the Oaks. We stayed multiple nights in the Shed and had our bridal party stay at the Above the Oaks Airbnb which is walking distance from ATO. If I could go back, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I don’t normally write public reviews - Amongst the Oaks was so amazing that I knew I wanted and needed to write one. Amy and Brandon, I’m sorry it took so long! I wanted it to be perfect so I procrastinated. Then I realized a not-so-perfect review is better than procrastinating-with-no-review.
