Meadow Brook Inn — Attraction in Charlestown

I had the Wedding of my Dreams at Meadow Brook Inn! My husband and I tied the knot on September 4th, 2022. MBI has it all: great communication, an incredible venue with character, delicious and inventive cuisine, attentive staff, and an absolutely wonderful day-of experience, all for a great price! When we first reached out to MBI in March of 2021, Marisa and Gabe(experienced husband and wife duo that run a tight ship) were the ultimate professionals. They were very quick to communicate, and make sure we had all the information we needed. From the first tour of the grounds, to the contract signing, to making arrangements for our rehearsal, to allowing early drop off of décor, and answering our many, many questions, they treated us like family. We never felt like a pain, and if given the chance to plan my wedding over again, I’d do it with them in a heartbeat. This venue is STUNNING! Gabriel works all year round to make sure the landscaping is impeccable. The ceremony space is a beautiful private glade tucked over a bridge and babbling brook in the back corner of the property. It felt like walking into the Secret Garden. The Formal Gardena nd Cocktail hour space, seem like they belong in a fairytale! The elegant, tiered fountain and trimmed hedges are accompanied by a shady area with flower-filled wishing wells and moss-covered bird baths, not to mention all the lovely little alcoves with benches for your guests to make them comfortable. The grounds alone are what sold me here, but don’t discount the interior! The ballroom is so elegantly styled, and a little bit of a blank slate. You could really dress this space up or leave it as is. It's beautiful either way. The vintage styled Lounge area has antique couches to get cozy on, a beautiful fireplace to set the mood, and its own bar. It was the perfect setting for the Groom to get ready and have a glass of scotch before the party got started and was a calm spot for guests to scurry away to, if they needed a quiet moment. The bridal suite was the perfect setting for my bridal party and I to grab a quick bite before the ceremony, and ended up being the perfect backdrop for my “getting dressed” photos. I cannot state enough, every inch of this venue is GORGEOUS! Perfect for summer garden parties, or a cozy winter wedding. MBI is beautiful in any season! Okay, now on to my Husband’s favorite part, the FOOD! When we went for our tasting, we were absolutely blown away! I expected a venue that does their own catering to be just okay, but this food felt like we were eating at a five star restaurant! We opted for the meal to be served buffet, and when it came to the day of, they even made special plates for our vegan/gluten free/diet restricted guest. Gabe nailed the classics, like freshly carved prime rib with au jus, and the best eggplant parm I’ve ever had, and he came up with some truly stunning creative appetizers as well. The potstickers, and the pulled pork eggrolls were so delicious, I couldn’t get enough of them. If Meadow Brook Inn were just a restaurant, I would be eating here at least twice a month. On the big day, my Husband and I were treated like Royalty! The head of staff, Brian, was my personal assistant for the day, and made me feel calm when everything was chaos. When he learned I was walking myself down the Aisle, he personally walked me as far as he could, and gave me some last-minute advice that made me feel as though I were talking with an old friend. He is such a gem! He personally brought my new husband and I our drinks for the whole reception, and even made sure we got some appetizers during cocktail hour, while we were taking pictures. To sum it up, BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER! If I had to choose again, I’d choose Meadow Brook Inn. I cannot recommend Marisa and Gabe enough. This venue is gorgeous, the food is delicious, and our wedding day was easily the best day of our lives. We are so grateful to everyone at MBI. Where to start? The venue, the staff, the food?! If you don't want to read further just know that they were all exceptional. To start, the venue is a hidden gem, it was the perfect spot for our rustic wedding. The staff, Marisa, Gabe, Brian, just to name a few were a pleasure to work with. Marisa and Gabe the owners, but also the Venue Coordinator and Chef, from the beginning were easy to communicate with and were always able to answer my questions - and there were a ton. They even hosted our rehearsal dinner and oh man it was FANTASTIC. Brian, what would I have done without him on our wedding day? He literally calmed my nerves and checked on us the WHOLE night, making sure we were able to enjoy in the food, drinks, and whatever else we might want. He was so sweet with my niece, our flower girl, telling her she was feeding the deer with the petals she would throw - she was excited! The food, the food was AMAZING! I have received so many compliments on our day and across the board everyone absolutely LOVED the food. We did a chicken and fish course, the portions were not skimpy, the chicken wasn't dry, the fish had a great stuffing, and I'm glad my husband and I got one of each to share! The Meadow Brook Inn is beyond spectacular, they are all so accommodating. Let’s first starts the initial inquiry, Marisa got right back to me to setup a time to meet. We then scheduled a food tasting they made all types of dishes and there was a lot of options. The communication between us was great, they were not overbearing with question. It felt as if we were planning a wedding with a good friend. I was impressed that they let us setup everything before the rehearsal and when we got there all the tables and linens were already set all we had to do was the decor. On our wedding day, we were planning on have a outdoor ceremony and it rained all day!! Marisa was amazing, she did not stress once (in front of us). The rain had broken for window of time and Marisa asked if we wanted to have it outside or inside. I appreciated that she was wanting the best for us and not what was convenient for her and the staff . We ended up having it outside and the rain held for the ceremony and pictures!!
