Great little nature preserve on Lake Michigan. Short hike through the woods to the beach. The road goes down to the beach area so you don't have to walk through the woods. It's a short hike and the stairs from the deck to the beach are missing but it's a small manageable jump either up or down. Great spot to spend a couple hours and enjoy nature. Lots of wildlife. Had a deer charge me and circle me in the dunes, I think people may have fed it cause it wasn't scarred to get close to me or...

This place is a gem hidden in a residential sub. Didn't do the trail, but the beach is by far the best in the area. Much nicer than the downtown Charlevoix beach. I would go as far as to say it's probably my favorite beach in the entire Charlevoix/Petoskey/Harbor Springs vicinity. The beach is just a short walk over a small dune from the parking lot. I would suggest getting here before noon, as the parking lot is pretty small and fills up quick. There is also a disc golf...

Nice preserve with lots of trails though short obviously because of the size of the preserve. We are used to endless trails in the mountains of Montana but that's not an option here. We went round and round to get some distance in. What's unique is getting the hike in a deciduous forest with the beautiful fall colors. We just don't have deciduous...

This is such a beautiful part of Charlevoix all year round. The trails lead to a great observation deck to over look the beaches where you can swim. I love it in the winter after a big snow because it feels like you are walking through another world. There are so many picturesque landscapes and moments. You have to check it out at least once while in the area.
