Clanton Park — Attraction in Charlotte

Our nonprofit organization Uncle Sonny Initiative held a Mental Health Awareness Family Fun Day and 5k Walk at Clanton Park. Prior to making the decision to host our walk there, I visited the park a few times and found it to be a great place for people with all types of interest. The Irwin Creek Trail is a 5k hike round trip. The park has a playground, basketball courts, and a new pickleball court. Various sections of the park can be rented for events by reaching out to Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation Department. I grew up in this community and this park is great for all of your outdoor activities! Family gatherings, couple or individual events are enjoyed here. This park is also known for being the location for the annual "Dalton Village Reunion"! I do not play soccer, but even I can tell it is a very popular place for the game. The field is well kept and I saw that a tournament was happening, the trophies in the back of a pick up truck gave it away! Also I noticed people playing some kind of game on the baseball field.
