Let me start off by saying I was at first impressed with ECPI, however, by the time i got to the last half of my education, my military started to be an issues for them. Got that resolved, but had to go outside of the school and up to the VA level, as well as my unit to let them know I was having issues with the school and my military duty. The school was going to kick me out for having a weekend military duty and would have been 30 minutes over a time miss, yet this new dean would not let me make up the time. I ended up having to take it way farther than i wanted to, to be able to stay in school. Talk about fighting for your education. Then we hit a class where EVERYONE, i mean every student in this class was failing, our mean mark was 50's, and 60's and then 70's after the teacher had to have another teacher re-evaluate test. However, this still was done poorly. By the end of the term those of us that could almost teach the material that we were suppose to be testing on and if you asked us in class or in person to break it down for you we could. But on the test, the test were worded and done so poorly, and the teaching was so poor that you had to teach yourself. It doesn't take a special kind of person to learn about those chapters, if you just read, cause clearly you won't get much from the teachers, and this had been an issue in a term or two prior, and even those reading and teaching themselves were doing well on test. We get to this term and the test you have no idea what the teacher is looking for in answers. Tell me how does a class of 20 go from a few people struggling as is expected, but the rest of us in high 80's and 90's go to 50, 60, and 70's. We contacted VA, got a vague response back, as our DON did not address this further other than just talk to your instructor, which we did and were met with resistance on both ends. After trying to communicate through all aspects, reached up to VA and have heard nothing back and we reached out early in the term in hopes we would get assistance before finals week. Let me tell you i will never recommend ecpi for anyone, in nursing or brand new to it. If you are military run, take your GI bill and go somewhere that supports you and wants your success, ecpi is not that place. In the end it is about their numbers and money, not about building successful people and more importantly successful nurses. Do not take this review lightly, i did others and now i wish i would have just went to Chamberlain. Very disappointed in ECPI and the support and education they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I start. I moved to NC from VA not too long ago. I attended the Va beach location. I went through the entire PN program minus Role transition which is the last class. I was told by the assistant director that I could transfer and finish my last class here(charlotte). I was told a couple of weeks later by the director that I would not be able to transfer. Why? Iām unsure. So now Iām having to start the program all over. I just recently took and passed my four part TEAS test. I was told that someone from financial aide would call me. I didnāt receive the call and ended up having to call them. I spoke with Ms. James because thatās who was suppose to reach out to me. She told me that I needed to speak to Jagruti Patel because I had a balance. I called MsPatel several times and left several voice messages. She finally reached out to me today. She was very insensitive to my situation. Instead of trying to help me she kept throwing more curve balls that would make it harder for me to enroll into school. VERY DISCOURAGING! She needs to be replaced! She was suppose to email a list of school loans that I could apply for as soon as we got off the phone. I have yet to receive that list! I will definitely be looking into other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI enrolled in the Medical Assistant program at ECPI in March 2020 (3 month pregnant). With everything going virtual I really questioned staying enrolled. the school was not easy to work with over a computer. My Financial aid was messed up in the beginning and had to be completely redone and some of the teachers were TERRIBLE with virtual learning. I stuck it out and hoped for the best. As my due date creeped up I started freaking out but Mrs. Mocilan helped make sure everything with school was set for me to welcome my little boy. When we were finally able to come back in person all my classes were with Mrs. Mocilan. I honestly would not have finished this program if it wasnāt for her. She encourages all her students and she see the potential every individual has. She ALWAYS made herself available to her students no matter what she had going on. She went over and beyond to make study material for each certification you can get through the program. Then when you go out on externship she does everything to make sure you are getting the hands on training. I am currently employed at my externship site and she still checks on. I hope ECPI sees how lucky they are to have Mrs. Mocilan as their MA...
