I had heard about Head Over Fields through friends that have spoken very highly of this organic farm. I had to check this place out. The drive from where I live in Burlington down route 7 was absolutely gorgeous in Charlotte, with the farm being very close to Mt. Philo – it was quintessential Vermont. The staff at HOF were very knowledgeable and welcoming. I asked quite a few questions about the farm and how it operated and was met with an enthusiastic discussion. Everything I had read about the farm on their well-organized website rang true: providing “healthy, organic and sustainably grown produce to our community.” The retail farm stand was well operated and I cannot wait to visit again. I got some Kale, fruit popsicles (for my nephews), and freshly baked country bread. Everything was great and I used the Kale in some recipes and salads as well as my workout smoothies – it was excellent! There was also a back room that had a lovely selection of dried flower arrangements. I moved to Vermont last summer (2022) and as I think back on what drew me here it’s the people, the beautiful landscape, and the small businesses and food scene – all of these things are exhibited by Head Over Fields. If you are around and want a taste of excellent produce from a local farm – stop by!

My spouse had wanted to try a local CSA program and sent me to collect the weekly vegetables for the first time this spring. As part of my disabilities, I have compromised executive functions in the morning. There was no instructions whatsoever in the shed for CSA pickups, despite I did look for it. As a result, I accidentally grabbed an additional bag of spinach.

My spouse communicated the mix-up to the owner. They punitively charged us $8 for the bag of spinach. I don’t know if that’s white entitlement or just plain entitlement by putting all responsibility on the customers, but we wouldn’t be supporting this farm...

I heard of this farm and farm stand after purchasing some herbs from a local apothecary. When I wanted to buy more I went right to the source and I’m glad I did! This is the cutest farm stand with an incredible assortment of goods. They have everything from chips, local honey, salsa, spices, fruits, vegetables, fresh frozen broth, cute gifts and more! The customer service is also wonderful. They are kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and I will...
