Beautiful park! The water is nice & relaxing. I've seen people fish here. However I personally wouldn't, considering the appearance of the water. I'm sure that sounds contradictory, it's just nice to be around water... not eat out of it. There's a BMX racetrack, tennis courts, basketball courts, a football & baseball field. A nice location for a wedding ceremony & 3 play areas for kids. Plenty of shelters to celebrate different events. Lastly, its huge, very open & spacious. If I had anything negative to say about this park it would be about how the adults conduct themselves around children. As well as the type of explicit music they play at times. Otherwise, I've figured out which times are better to go so those things can be avoided. It feels very safe here, and I appreciate the cleanliness of this park & its restrooms. They have a Carolina Panthers themed Play 60 Challenge Course here which is engaging for kids & parents as well. The course reminds me of Legends of the Hidden Temple & America Ninja Warrior mixed together. All in all, it's my go to park nearest my home & I'd recommend it for...

So impressed at this park! The BMX track was closed, due to rain, but practice is typically on Tuesday nights and kids of all ages, even on balance bikes, can try out the hills. It costs $5 to ride on the dirt track.

There seems to be pretty much every sport here, volleyball, soccer, baseball, basketball, horseshoes, etc. Nice, paved trails, and lots of gravel trails that we didn't check out this trip.

The Panthers practice field was a huge hit with my kids, there is a even a timer to see how long it takes you to complete the obstacle course. Right beside that is a large playground with lots of climbing and spinning parts (my kids favorites) and the tallest slides I've seen in a long time. There is also a sandbox with metal diggers, although those didn't seem to be working exactly right, the little ones still enjoyed them.

Hornet's Nest Park makes me wistful that my town of Mint Hill would focus on what kids want, rather than money makers like huge ball fields, this park is a...

Our family reunion on July 19th at Hornets Nest Park was truly a beautiful experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue! We were so glad to have secured one of the shelters, which proved to be perfect for our gathering. The park itself is gorgeous, offering a wonderful backdrop for our family to connect and celebrate. A special shout-out to the park ranger we encountered – she was incredibly friendly and helpful! Her assistance in allowing us to bring our things to the shelter made our setup so much easier and less stressful, which we truly appreciated. Her welcoming demeanor really added to the positive atmosphere of our day. Everything about our time at Hornets Nest Park was just beautiful. We had a fantastic reunion and would highly recommend this park, especially for anyone looking to host a family event. We're already looking forward to future...

This place is huge! Many baseball fields are in one area, In the next area- a couple large fishing ponds, a large playground with many swings and a Panthers Play60 obstacle course- in addition to basketball courts and sand volleyball courts. Just past that is the BMX track and some more pavilions. There are 12 tennis courts after that (would be awesome if they changed some to Pickleball courts!) And disc golf course runs throughout the park. There are many pavilions and picnic tables to eat and and a few paths the kids can ride bikes. This place feels similar to Freedom park, but not quite as well manicured, not nearly so busy. Tons of space! Highly recommend checking it out.

I went for strictly the disc golf, nothing else so I can't comment on anything else. I drove about an hour and a half to get here and let me tell you I wasn't let down. The course is absolutely flawless, nothing at all to complain about! I guess that's why they held the pdga championship multiple years in a row there (hoping for 2022) I loved every minute of it from the view, the well maintained course, to fan freaking out standing where the pros stand. Honestly amazing, challenging and still able to see the lines you can go through, many of courses hasn't mastered that yet. Had a blast, will definitely be making the trip again.
