Oh, how I adore my nature center! Despite being a city girl at heart with limited experience in the "scary" woods, I've been transformed by the Reedy Creek camping trips led by Pepe and Laura. They have made tent camping accessible and enjoyable for me, easing my initial fears of encountering bears, snakes, or other daunting creatures.
Pepe’s fried rice and impressive master chef skills on the propane stove elevate our camping experience to a delightful level of glamping. Reedy Creek’s comprehensive service, providing all the food, tents, and necessary gear, eliminates the guesswork and anxiety for someone like me who is new to camping. This thoughtful support allows me to focus solely on the adventure and beauty of nature.
The excursions themselves are nothing short of outstanding. I've loved learning about and exploring the beautiful state of North Carolina, thanks to Reedy Creek. From the scenic Morrow Mountain, Mt. Mitchell, and Mt. Craig, to the breathtaking Black Mountain Lookout and the serene Yadkin, Uwharrie, and Pee Dee Rivers, every trip has been memorable and enriching.
One of the most educational experiences has been learning about Native American history and discovering artifacts that are still present throughout North Carolina today. These adventures with Reedy Creek have opened my eyes to the rich history and natural beauty of our state, making each journey both a learning opportunity and a...
Read moreTook my dog for a walk here. First time here. Enjoyed the walk, not the lack of signage. Took a walk on the Dragonfly Pond Trail. Got to the pond just fine. There were so many trail options at the pond, but no signs indicating which was the continuation of this trail. Turned around and retraced the trail back to my starting point. Looked over the map at trail head but still wasn't a lot clearer. But I enjoyed the walk, so did the dog. It's a huge park, seemingly with many options. Little disappointed with signage, what with this being my first time here. Maybe it would have turned out better if I had gone with some familiar with the place. Not likely to return to this park. There are a few smaller ones that I have some familiarity with and don't have to worry about taking a wrong trail and...
Read moreThis park has the plus of having some shaded area. But overall it is a dry and Dusty lot until it rains and then it is all mud. There is only one spigot for water and that is on the far end. Buckets of water are all over the park which people have carried there, but that water can get nasty. Also, one day last summer there was no water at all coming out of the spigot inside the dog park. It is definitely not big enough for the number of people in the area who use it. There should be an additional large dog off-leash Park in Reedy Creek.People do not seem concerned with picking up their dog's poop and way too many unneutered male dogs coming in that are not closely supervised. There is also a large number of young children that the supervising adults allowed to run free and...
