Reedy Creek Park Dog Park — Attraction in Charlotte

I was looking for dog parks and saw this one was close and had a lot of room for my dog to run. I got there and saw the main fence said only dogs 20+ pounds so I asked someone where the area for smaller dogs was. I walked to it and it was pathetic. A tiny area with no trees or anything. And when I say tiny I mean tiny, maybe a 25th of the size of the area for larger dogs. My dog is half yorkie/half jack russel. He is insanely energetic, he barely had enough room to run in a circle without hitting the fence. I’m not sure if they think that because they have smaller legs they don’t need space to run, or even a tree....

Located just inside the entrance to Reedy Creek park. There is a main dog area and a separate area for small dogs. The small dog area is usually pretty empty, but the main dog area is a really good size and can get pretty busy. There's a water station and a wooded section, as well as open non wooded. Nice area with trees and shade for big dogs. Sad small lot for little dogs. I had heard bad things about fights from other people but decided to come anyway. We spent all of 15 minutes at the small dog park area. My dogs were hot and there was no shade or anything interesting to investigate.
