Greenbrier Park — Attraction in Charlottesville

PLEASE be aware - the dirt trail at the end of the park, which leads up to "John C. Warner Parkway", leads up to train tracks that are private property. I was stopped by a police officer and given a warning for trespassing, although there is no current signage that warns "Private Property" or "No Trespassing". I was merely exploring the trails with my dog and wandered into this ostensibly private area. The officer stated he stopped three people in a matter of 30 minutes. There needs to be a sign here that warns others not to go...

The trails are mid-maintenance, so they dead end in places. That said, even in areas that don't have maintenance signage, the trails peter our in weird spots. I ran an early Cto5k workout (run a minute, walk 90 seconds, rinse repeat) and covered all the available trails before time 30 minutes elapsed.

It's pretty, and has a cool rope swing, but there needs to be more trail to make it worth a trip. Great if you live nearby, but then you're not the target audience for...

We did not make it all the way through the park, but lots of beautiful natural trails. I love what Parks and Rec and the RTF have done here to make nature accessible. I did not see anything like a playground anywhere, so I'm not sure about the other review here that talks about basketball and other amenities. It reminds me a lot of the Delaware Canal...
