I went on this hike Saturday October 14th. We started at 7am and ended at 2:30pm. It was a beautiful fall day and a incredible hike. It has a little bit of everything, a beautiful brook/stream with swimming holes and small waterfalls, a easy walking part in the woods. Some moderate rock scrambles. Phenomenal views for the majority of the hike. Alpine trails between peaks and different types of terrain. I will definitely be going again. We went clockwise up south baldface and down north baldface. The trail is easy to follow and well marked. On the rock faces you do have to look for cairns. We did see several dogs as well. The trailhead is located down the road to the right, across the street from the parking lot. When we arrived at 6:50am we were one of 4 cars. When we finished at 2:30 I counted 45 cars, people were parked on the side of the road because the parking lot was full. I highly recommend this hike.

My brother and I hiked this on 9/19/21. The weather was probably as good as it gets. Blue skies. No precipitation. My brother has done this hike more than a few times. However it was my first time. I consider myself in moderate shape. Not an avid hiker by any means. I've heard that this hike was rated difficult. So I guess I was expecting it to be worse than it was. It was quite steep but nothing that was anywhere near concerning. We started the hike around 630 and finished around 230. Overall it was challenging but rewarding. Great views. Trail was pretty well marked. Would do it again.

Beautiful hike with full panoramic views from the open summit of both north and south peaks. The granite face just above the lean-to is treacherous when wet and is a steep pitch but very passable when dry. Although much of the trail is fine, I don't recommend this one for dogs. Well worth the effort for those seeking a 10-mile adventure.
