My girlfriend, our dog, and myself were driving south along route 29 and noticed a sign advertising southern Virginia wine country. Naturally we Googled local vineyards immediately, and The Homeplace Vineyard was the one we decided to visit. It was a beautiful and picturesque place with a great energy and delicious wines. We intended to buy one bottle for our friend, who's house we would be staying at, and ended up leaving with 3. The woman who served us was extremely polite and knowledgable about all the wines we were sampling. If you find yourself in the area definitely stop in for a taste and to stretch your legs. Our dog was welcome on leash on the grounds, but not within buildings.. and they even gave her some water. Good people, good vibes, and good tastes nestled in the Virginia...
Read moreWe arrived at 1:15 on Tuesday 7/29 and there was nobody there for the tasting room. Google, their website, and their voicemail which i called but never got anyone to pick up all said they were open. Seemed like a nice place but we left disappointed and thirsty.
Edit: We spoke with the owner via phone that afternoon. And they made everything right by us quickly. The wines were delicious, and we had a lovely visit...
