Cohutta Overlook — Attraction in Chatsworth

I am very disappointed in this spot now I've been coming and taking a rest break from our motorcycle adventures anytime we are in this area we always sort of stop in here and from the first time and it's been many many years ago to this time this place has just deteriorated tremendously. If you need to take just a quick rest break and stay in your car or whatever you're traveling in it's fine it's a nice little pull off of the road but as far as the track up to the top of it it's falling apart and it's not being taken care of and like I said I am thoroughly unhappy with it. My memory of this place from 10 years ago was much better. The overlook trail hasn't seen any grounds maintenance in at least 2 seasons by the looks of it. Parking spots are overgrown by tall weeds. The trail is almost totally closed in by overgrowth and the stone wall feature at the top of the hill has all but completely crumbled. Large woody weeds grow up within the circular stone platform. This place is a secret hideaway!! Came upon this beautiful place with my husband and we just had to see what it was.. Followed the signs to one of the most peacefully tucked away placed with such beauty! You have to climb about 3 separate sets of small steps to get to the top but once up there it's a breathtaking view of nothing but mountain top and sky! Felt like I was just miles away from heaven
