What an absolute gem tucked away in Chattanooga! Enterprise South Nature Park is a perfect blend of history and outdoor recreation that has become our go-to spot for weekend adventures. The trail system is incredibly well-maintained and thoughtfully designed - with over 35 miles of trails catering to every skill level.
The paved loop is perfect for casual walks and families, while the extensive mountain biking trails offer everything from beginner-friendly paths to technical single tracks that'll keep advanced riders challenged and coming back for more. We especially love how the trails wind through beautiful hardwood forests, offering plenty of shade during summer hikes.
What makes this park truly special is how they've preserved and incorporated the area's history, with old ammunition bunkers from its days as a military installation adding a fascinating element to your exploration. The trails are well-marked, and the park is impeccably clean. Whether you're looking for a peaceful morning walk, an intense mountain biking session, or a family-friendly hiking adventure, Enterprise South delivers on all fronts.
Bonus points for the ample parking, clean facilities, and how even on busy days the park feels spacious enough that you can find your own quiet slice of nature. If you haven't experienced this Chattanooga treasure yet, you're seriously missing out. A must-visit for outdoor...
Read moreEnterprise South Nature Park is a great place to get outside with your dogs. We have walked several trails with our pups, Milo and Sophie. There are several trails originating at the visitor’s center with mild inclines and beautiful scenery, especially around the lake. The trails originating at the visitor’s center are the most popular, especially on the weekend, when hikers of all ages enjoy the park. Most of the trails are loops and can be accessed from various places along the one-way road. Keep in mind, if you go beyond the visitor’s center in your car, you need to drive the whole park loop, or use one connector road, to exit the park. Driving the loop around the park is enjoyable on its own, as there are many great views from the car. There are many historic bunkers on the property, one of which you can enter. If you go in the bunker and sing, your voice will echo and vibrate. Even if you can't hold a tune, like me, you will sound great. The trails on the far side of the park, are a little hillier, have fewer other hikers, thus a great place to go if you want more solitude. I would recommend Enterprise South Nature Park to everyone, as there are trails for those with different...
Read moreGreat park with lots to offer. Miles of hiking, horseback, and mountain bike trails that often intertwine, giving you the option to make your hike as long or short as you want. I strongly recommend grabbing a map from the visitor center as trail signage could be better. Plenty of well placed benches along the path to take breaks. Clear pathway markers when crossing over the paved road was much appreciated. Only two dedicated picnic areas, one on the lower poe run path and another near the lake.
There are lots of cool extras at this park that make it convenient. There's a bike repair and cleaning station, a dog wash station, a wildlife viewing platform, outdoor fitness stations, and a historical bunker display to learn more about the area.
The dog park is large and very well maintained. Small and large dogs are not separated, it's one big area for all sizes.
The horse trails have trail posts at 1/2 mile increments, only two water troughs on the trail, one right at the entrance and the other near the 7 mile mark.
There's a disc golf course located here as well, I haven't been personally but the map states it's 18 holes. I would expect it's also well maintained based on the rest...
