I've lived only a few miles from this most of my life and had no idea it was there! Neat to drive by and visit. I enjoyed the historical plaques. I wish the church was kept up slightly better, though perhaps they are trying to leave it original.

It is definitely worth a visit, but the church is in a poor state of repair. There's a lot of wood tot and the roof looks bad. Let's hope that the state or the county can come up with some money for restoration before the building crumbles.

Beautiful in it's simplicity. It's said to be the oldest building west of the Mississippi on it's original foundation. End of the Oregon trail. I got married there, to my wonderful wife 19 years ago. If you're in the area, check it out.

I haven't seen the church up close yet. It's too bad these churches aren't used for more than a settings. Would be nice to actually have a service there or something more substantial if possible. Maybe it's not a functional setting for services, but that...
