If you take a right from the main trail entrance, it only goes about 3.7 miles and then you have to turn around as there’s a private entrance passing the railroad crossing where the restroom is. If you go left at the main trailhead it’s all gravel. you will hit the gravel road and that’s where the 20 some odd miles to ride is. Lots of Robin’s 🐦 playing chicken, lol beautiful view of the lake and the water is a little water is over the trail that is paved. Overall a pretty nice ride but I didn’t get to ride the gravel Section just the paved section.

Lovely, easy walk that connects to Fish Lake Trail. There's a lot of birds, Marmots, and chipmunks among other hidden creatures. You may experience the occasional train on the tressel overhead. The rock formations and plants are intriguing. Just don't confuse the Biscuit Root with the Poison Hemlock flowers! I captured a picture of the Poison Hemlock. It's a yellow flower with an umbrella shaped bloom. The water flows over the trail at some times of year but it's not been a hindrance thus far. We also pick up after our dog. #packinpackout

We drove to Cheney trailhead and rode 7 miles roundtrip on paved path that's just lovely. There is a picnic area off trail a bit by the lake. It's a hope for the future to get bike trail extended from Government Way and Sunset Blvd trail head to go all the way through to the actual lake since its Fish Lake trail.

Awesome trail with trail heads in several places. Great for a short walk or long bike ride and anything inbetween. We went from the Cheney trailhead to Fish Lake and it's all asphalt, but going the other direction (south) was packed gravel. It's a great trail that makes you feel like you are far away from the rest...
