While this place has pretty views swimmer beware it is a man built dam that get a lot of young families and lots of bodily functions afloat from time to time. Sometimes you end up with more sickness then fun. As a kid my family frequently visited here I must say it has gone down hill since then. The place is a bit rundown . While the wild life can be beautiful goose poo litters the beach and by beach I mean the once glorious sand is now rock hard cracked burning dirt.:( the trails are great for walking hiking biking with places to stop off for fishing boating. However they are in the dense trees so for safety sake don't go alone one can get lost or worse. This is free to the public so who knows who or what could be lurking... There are yurts available RV hook ups camping sites and boat rentals. And snakes galore so step with caution they have been known to swallow fish right on the hook and take to the water. While many people are hesitate to "label" the exact type of reptile bred I can say from pictures and personal experiences they are large. So like an outdoor facility use your head and have fun! There is a promise of a makeover in the near future, but that remains to be seen...........It seems that wishes really do come true fresh white sand has been placed on the beach and not a foul in site. New buildings have been erected and looks promising. I am excited to see what else unfolds in the plan to make this place even better than its...
Read moreWe love staying here and go every year. We were up the weekend of June 24 this year. Great park and the staff are really nice. My one complaint is they need to come through to enforce the rules every now and then. Cabin 2 had an unleashed dog running loose that would run after you barking and growling when you tried to go to the bath house! Coming to other cabins doing the same! Same cabin also decided to set off fireworks at 10:30, quiet time starts at 9. Couldn't fish, same cabin with kids throwing rocks over at you! Kids from another cabin riding bikes inside the bath houses and writing on the walls! Yes we wiped it off before it dried. Drunks in another cabin up till 4am being loud. Kids from one of the yurts throwing rocks at the bath houses and cars while their mom is standing there! It was a free for all! I could go on and on but these are some of the highlights. Just a drive through once in awhile to enforce the rules would help. The park and amenities are great and I highly recommend them. The staff we interacted with are awesome. Just do something about the unruly people who come in and ruin it for...
