Showboat Park — Attraction in Chesaning Township

This park has come a long ways over the past few years. It has a unique assortment of plants and trees that I haven't seen  that give the park a unique look. It offers different walking/running paths from gravel to blacktop and even a wood chip path through the woods. The blacktop path to the north east part is beautiful with the well executed blend of trees and plants that attract an awesome assortment of Michigan birds. This path also runs alongside the river.I love using this park for running exercises. Its a massive park and offers a couple decent hills to train on as well. There's also a couple playground areas for the little ones, some pavilions, a boat launch, decent fishing spots, a camp ground, baseball fields, plenty of grass to fly kites without worrying about running into anything, a disc golf course, bathrooms and I think that about...

The rate is amazing... now to the real deal. I wasn't upset there was no water hookup. I wasn't upset there was no sewage hookup... now the thing that did bother me, was the police came multiple times so far 2 weeks into my month visi . The first week thru came and asked us to step out in the rain. They asked if we had seen an injured person. We explained to them we were from Georgia in Michigan looking for property (they left no fuss) now day 15 they pull us over at our RV saying the office has called them and told them we didn't pay (funny thing is during this commotion someone decided we did pay) . while being questioned by the police the wind bent my awning. I'm trying to figure out where in America does someone call the police on someone for paying there way. this was just disgusting im appalled at this. Shame on whomever...

Took my daughter yesterday morning for a little pre birthday celebration fun. She enjoyed the playground at the beginning of the park. Good access to the river. But it was disheartening to find out the splash pad was never built like it was planned. Am also disappointed in the village govt for not utilizing the amphitheatre anymore for events to bring in more money for the community. Like the Showboat...
