This place is an absolute treasure, not only for the heritage and historical learning but also as a recreational area for our family.
The Cowpens Battlefield is located in an area where there are mostly rural roads, farmland, private homesteads and residences. The nearest park is in Chesnee and is very small, making the battlefield the only large recreational park in many miles.
The battlefield provides recreational trails for walking (which have rubberized pavement in most areas), enjoying the natural scenery, and learning historical facts about the area.

Read moreI go to the battleground part at least twice a week. With my baby boy, the Duke. And we have short trails that we walked together And we have longer trails that we walk on better days. This park is always clean and free from debris and vagrants. You can enjoy your walk or ride in your car and feel safe and secure without worries of any kind. Cookouts are an added bonus with clean tables and grills and also private picnic areas. Come and visit and see for yourself. Lee...
