Very upsetting by this park and will NEVER go back. Spent three hours driving to go to a family reunion only to be told by a park attendant that we could not stay in the park because we had our dog with us. What park doesn't allow dogs??? Apparently Grose Park of Ottawa County. No dogs on the beach, I would understand, but no dogs at all. Just ridiculous, especially considering their website is very misleading and contradicting on the matter. Their dog policy is below:
-Dogs are not permitted on the beach or lakefront, in picnic areas, playground areas, park buildings, restrooms, ball fields or volleyball courts, or off-trail. -Dogs are required to be leashed (10’ max) and under control at all times. -Owners must clean up after their pet and dispose of waste in a trash receptacle. -Leader dogs for persons with disabilities are permitted in all areas at any time. -Recognizing that most dogs enjoy running and playing freely, many Ottawa County Open Space Lands allow dogs year-round off leash.
Again, just ridiculous and very misleading. They should really consider changing the wording on their website. I won't be going back and I am suggesting that my family NEVER use this park as a reunion location again.

Read moreI absolutely love going here. It is by far one of the best places that I know of to get some true rest and relaxation. You can picnic, play horseshoes, take a hike through mother nature, swimming in the summertime, boating activities, para sailing, play at the playground, enjoy the wild life and last but not least fish until you can't fish anymore or you reach your limit one or the other... There is so much fun to be had the park is open from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. very very safe clean environment for children of all ages it's a very family-oriented type of scene so if you can't act like a normal civilized person that's has manners and morals then this County Park is "NOT" for YOU or ANYONE you probably hangout with. Please please remember to throw your trash away in the garbage cans that are located throughout the entire park. Nobody likes picking up after another individual especially an adult. And there is NO fee for parking...
Read moreThe park features 2 pavilions, a large one that overlooks the lake/swimming area and a smaller one by the volleyball courts. There's a small beach at the bottom of a small hill that can be accessed by either stairs or a paved trail. The paved trail is nice and wide for strollers, wagons and wheelchairs to be able to get down to the beach easily. There is a decent size playground for the kids to play on with picnic tables all around it. Lots of picnic tables and grills can be found throughout the park. Lots of trees provide plenty of shade. There is a bathroom with flush toilets. Two parking lots provide a good amount of parking. The park is very well maintained and is a great place to spend the day. There's even walking trails through the woods. The park is popular with people who know about it so it can get busy during the weekends June,...
