Trail is about a one mile circle with a lead-in path from the small parking lot. From the lead-in, if you turn right where the trail forks the path is a steep downhill. We proceeded slowly and made it down no problem with hiking boots and running shoes. Beautiful views of the flood plain and MO river. Negatives were because it's in the metro area some visitors don't understand the concept of Leave No Trace. The right side (first trailhead you encounter coming up from the parking lot) is the more steep climb, and the left side is more gradual. There are a few spots with benches to pause and take in the view. Being so small & close to the city it's perfect for a quick mini hike! Read moreSmall place with around 10 parking slot with one handicapped parking. Spotted a picnic table as well which can hold upto 6 people. Today went there and found it's not suitable for kids. The grasses are bit more grown up, there are small fly like insect and not to mention mosquitoes. Got 2 mosquito bytes within 5 mins and headed back to another nearby trail. Of course this is a conservation area so I don't expect it to be maintained like other park of recreation, however won't recommend for family...
