Wares Grove Beach — Attraction in Chesterfield

Too expensive. If you love bandaids and bacteria, and the smell of feces, well then, this is your place! In all seriousness, it's an ok place, as long as you don't put your head under the water until you're over chest deep. That, and watch your step in the parking lot, I've almost stepped in spent diapers 3x there. If the cost was 1/4 of what it is I'd probably go 4x as much lol. $6 for a swim is just not worth it. My teen was paddle boarding and joined the family at the beach for lunch. Parked it next to the other kayaks on the corner of the beach. Travelers, this is a lovely public beach located on spofford lake. It has a lifeguard, plenty of beach, a swim area, a few picnic tables. There is a cute refreshment stand where you can get an ice cream or a hotdog and a drink. And the views are wonderful. Spofford lake is a jewel. Nice to canoe or kayak around. Really pretty spot in New England. Check it out. We recommend.
