So many clear cuts that it's not a forest anymore. And yet another clear cut has eliminated the last section of the Logan North Loop. There are no signs warning hikers they will have to hike 3.5 miles down a road instead of through a forest. They've eliminated the ability to do a backpack loop in favor of even MORE clear cutting.
Be warned... if you try to hike the Logan North Loop, you will have to add over 2.5 miles to the distance so you can have the joy of hiking on pavement for 3.5 miles.
I hiked 9 miles to get to the firetower only to be greeted with a sign warning me of potential arrest should I try to complete the loop. There were NO ALERTS anywhere along the way of this major reroute of a nature trail onto roads. Total distance of the trail increased...

I am 50 years old now and I remember a family camping trips here when I was very little about 5 years old.there is a small Lake here to fish in there is a beach to go swimming there are trails to go hiking there is a bicycle rental and a storeand I believe they might even rent some other stuff such as the bikes that look like a go kart. It's been a couple of years since I have been over here and got to spend much time there.we used to have a lot of family picnics there as well when I was younger but it got to the point you have to reserve the shelter houses a year in advance now. lots of things have changed over the years maybe I will go camping again...

The park is clean and scenic, the staff is friendly, you can borrow some sports equipment for free, there is plenty of space to walk around, and in my experience the park is nice and quiet. The only downside is the bathroom facilities, which are latrines that smell pretty awful. Some of the latrines do have a sink with soap on the outside, while others only have hand sanitizer. The shower house is adequately equiped and did not seem too dirty. I have heard that they plan to install real toilets in the shower house in the future. Despite the lackluster bathrooms, I still love Tar Hallow and think the price to stay there is...
