Nez Perce National Historical Park-Montana — Attraction in Chinook

How can a massacre site be so beautiful, as many people died here. I could feel the sadness and desperation. There were historical markers and information boards to help tell what happened. Trail brings us around the area as u can walk in the footsteps of the past. The park brochure box was empty as if u had one it would explain in detail the numbered sites. Very peaceful. Make sure to take the trail guide with you as there are 11 stops along the trail with additional information that is included in the trail guide. The south bridge was clearly washed away earlier in the season and there has been no visible effort to get it fixed. Very nice. Interesting history. Fairly easy walking path through the battlefield. It had small markers where people were injured or died or where their tepees were set up. They were hard to spot at first. We thought they were survey markers. Until we noticed they had names...
