It's so frustrating that they can't get this water park to flow well. I've been coming to this water park ever since it was owned by Knotts, then Aquatica and now sesame place and it just gets worse. (Passes for all of them for consecutive years including sea world)
The staff doesn't smile. Not managing the rides and slides, not at the entrance, not while purchasing food. It's very just doing "the job". I got at least a hello smile from the security at most. Also, they lack knowledge of the park.
Unlike Sea World, you can't bring food in the park. You can bring chips in snack bags but not a family size bag of chips or sandwiches. Also, checking the bags for this is inconsistent. As a business i get wanting to sell at food stands and such, but it takes FOREVER to get your food. And the lines!!! Ughhh. It combination with the lies on the slides and for the food, a lot of time is wasted. The food is good, just really expensive.
The lines for the slides! I get there are safety regulations but it's so careful and so strict that the lines are 20 min for a slide an it doesn't even appear that the line is even that long. This is a trend on all visits. The slides for earlier and Burt are set up as they were 2 decades ago with a loading go and next to go. With efficiency they could have the left person loading while the other is already ready. So when the ok is ready the second can just go, as the next in line takes a seat. They are only loading one at a time. So half the wait is just waiting for the person to head over and sit having already cleared the landing pool. In all, tis ruins the flow of the fun and limits time on all the slides making it an unenjoyable realization. Slides are fun though. To add, often times, you're waiting for a tube to even go get in that line.. there's a line for a tube. 🙄
Always something is closed... Forget going out of season. There i staffing sucks. So once school starts in end august early Sept, you're even more limited to how much you can do. I wanted to go in the lazy river for endless loops without kids, not enough life guards there. So they had one lifeguard hurdle 10 people in tubes around ONCE. Staying together at a slow pace. Like a guided tour. We had to get off and get in a pilinglieifwe wanted another lap. The line took over 15min and was longer after my one lap.
Thegiftshop has cute merchandise. Always have loved t. Yes pricey, But with a platinum season pass 40% discount, comes out to a very decent price. Check online for printable coupons only avail at the guest services n there MAY be an additional coupon you can use to the pass discount.
Haven't had issues on the dry rides other than that you have to wear a shirt and shorts even above a suit.
I would love to wear a hat, sunglasses or even the phone necklace they SELL on the water slide. I'll give a pass on the necklace as a chocking hazard. But if my hat or sunglasses falls.. let it be my problem. It'll only be at the landing pool
Cabanas are too expensive. There's so many empty ones bc of it. If they lowered the price. Maybe even as a discount for pass holders they'd make more money off of them in a day. Opportunity is wasted lose-lose
All in all a little less of a leash for the guests would improve the experience tremendously. ITS JUST TOO STRUCTRED.
Also. Fun music, other than sesame street could make the environment a little more relaxing. Like an appropriate radio dj you can hear throughout the park with a spin for prizes. I get there's a theme but sheesh. I've been holding my internal review in since Aquatica opened. But sesame place is only more slow flowing and inconsistent. Staffing needs to be taught to be WELCOMING FRIENDLY AND SMILING. Knowledge would be nice too,but would be a lighter complaint if they were friendly enough to find out the answer to the question rather than just "i don't know how you can view the picture s on photo pass"even when their selling photos. Pickup a phone. Have some initiative. I'm gonna keep going for half days to pass the...
Read moreMarch 27,2022 - we went back today so we can watch the parade and we are so glad we did.
Wait for food 22 minutes- I do wish they would have their food selections all together, burger are separate from chicken tenders. But the wait was better than yesterday.
The photo booth kiosk had a few people in line. I was upset considering how much I missed yesterday for there to be no line today.
The parade is adorable and worth watching if you have little ones.
I'm glad we gave it another shot. I'll bump it up a star
March 26, 2022 - We are here for the opening, we expected a few hiccups along the way since it was the first day and crew is still being trained.
Overall experience: Good, we rented a cabana to have our own space and it was a great idea. I wish the cabana's would have fans inside to help keep the space cooler especially in the warmer months. Our Cabana attendant is what made the experience memorable. He was kind, patient, and brought our orders out promptly.
The sesame street theme is cute but I wish there was more. They played all the sesame jams throughout the park.
They need more kiosk for food, maybe hotdog stands throughout the park, something. The wait for food was 45+ minutes and let me tell you for the age group targeted that was a melting pot of tears. I wish they would consider an online order and pick up stations throughout the park. That would help.
I waited in line for an hour and ten minutes to purchase one photo. Their photo kiosk weren't working I was in the sun and 9 months pregnant (not their fault obviously) but I can't lie my back and feet hurt after that wait. But I needed a picture of my family with Elmo and cookie. During that time my husband was able to take our son on the carousel, watch a show, play in the play ground, and I missed it all. We left the park soon after.
The park itself looks like a park that has been used the bathrooms were a little run down. The baby changing station is gross. They could've polished these things up a bit. Maybe change toilet kids, install new and more baby changing stations (again targeted age group).
Parking- we had to park in a field and it was a little dangerous to actually get to the park having to walk through a path that had open I'm assuming Sewer lids. Also not leveled terrain.
They were also strict on bringing in food and water and wanted us to toss out our banana and water bottle which I didn't and glad I didn't cause the 45 minute wait for food I turned to the banana to buy some time. Also, the vendor selling water at bigbirds pool closed early so I'm glad I fought to keep my water.
The last thing- we contacted guest services to arrange brining a birthday cake. They said no problem they would refrigerate for us. We also contacted them regarding having mine and my sister's cabana's near each other we were told no problem. Well we get there with my nieces cake and they tell us NO OUTSIDE FOOD they gave us the option to throw away. We ended up finding a cast member and they stored the cake and after some discussion and proof of prior email we got out cabana's together.
Also I noticed people having an issue with bringing in wagons. Apparently, they have to be push wagon and not pull, they also require the wagon to have a brake. So I would double check before loading up the wagon and kiddos.
So I would give a 5 star at how happy my little one was today seeing Elmo. I'm giving an honest 3 star because I feel like they could've been a little more polished. All crew member were...
Read moreI am extremely upset with my experience at Sesame Place today. I am a pregnant mother who entered the park today with my 20 month old son. We rode the carousel and flying balloons without issue. I was denied boarding to our third ride, Rub A Dub Sub, when an employee asked if I was pregnant which I confirmed. He denied me boarding. I asked if I could sign a waiver saying I consent to any risk the rides may impose and the employee sent me to Guest Services. After speaking with multiple employees and supervisors for more than 30 minutes, I was informed the employees who permitted me to ride were incorrect and the only ride I am eligible to ride is the carousel. However, my toddler is only permitted to ride a horse in the middle of the carousel with an adult standing by (per the attendant working the ride). Therefore, neither of us were permitted to ride any rides. The park ride supervisor assured me the water park was open and available for both of us to participate in. After purchasing a $25 locker to store our keys and wallet, we entered the water area to learn that all of the toddler-friendly slides on The Count's Splash Castle were closed. Yet another attraction unavailable to us. We proceeded to wait in line at the Elmo's Silly Sand Slides. While adults are not permitted to go down the slides with children, the female lifeguard at the bottom of the slide confirmed she would catch my son down the slide while I walked back down the stairs. She caught my son and held his hand until I exited the stairs and rejoined him. My son loved the slide and asked to immediately ride it again. We waited in line again, and were cut in line by multiple children who were not supervised by parents. Staff permitted this cutting without issue despite Sesame Place's strict "no line cutting" policy. Once at the top of the line, we were directed to a slide that had a different male lifeguard at the bottom. I asked him if he was ready for my son to which he gestured "yes." My son went down the slide, spun sideways, and tipped over head-first into the water. The lifeguard did absolutely nothing to intervene. I went down the slide immediately after him to save my son as the lifeguard stood by. My son was visibly upset and injured with a bleeding knee. I asked the lifeguard why he did not intervene and he said he does not catch children. I informed him that the female lifeguard caught my son without problem. He explained it was "against their policy." It is extremely frustrating how both dry-ride employees and water-ride employees interpret all the policies differently. Upon entering the park, I was permitted to ride multiple rides without question, until one employee denied me boarding "per policy." Once inside the water park, one lifeguard caught my son without issue, but another lifeguard allowed him to injure himself because catching children is "against their policy." There is so much conflicting information with no clear answers.
As an expecting mother taking her son to Sesame Place, I read through the FAQ on the website and watched the video on "Know Before You Go." At no point did I see any information on expecting mothers not being able to attend rides with children who did not meet the height requirements. Had this information been communicated to me, I would not have paid a full day's admission ticket, nor $32 for parking, nor another $25 for a locker. I am extremely disappointed and angered by...
